Next Magic is gonna say he didnt mess around with that many women. This show hasn't really made anyone look that bad. With the way the Lakers were at the time I'm sure Jerry had some anger issues he's mellowed out on. And Kareem was definitely an *******. The orange juice thing is probably partially true at least

ya the Dr J they cast was about ten years too old.

 

Said the same thing to my wife when we watched the latest episode.

Casting for Dr. J just missed the mark unlike the rest of the players.

the way west was in the roadtrip/boston episode is much closer to how i imagine he actually was. it made for great entertainment, but they really make him look like a lunatic in the first half of this series.

larry bird was f***ing hilarious. dipping and spitting into a coke can and his interactions with the reporters were great. i cant wait for those finals match-ups!

This show was made for us sacred 99'ers.

 

Glanville plus Ladd Herzeg plus Bud Adams would be comedy gold.

 

Why is Jerry West so angry about this? He's by far the best character in the show, and he isn't even made to look bad except for the first episode. Even then, it's obvious comedic.

 

Even a fictional Bud Adams would get a firm no from me. F that guy and his family. Give the Oilers back to Houston and get rid of this dumbass Texans name.

In other news, it's easy to forget how good Spencer Haywood was. The show makes him out to be a plodding Maurice Lucas type and maybe by that time in his career he was. But just the year before he had averaged 24 ppg and 9.6 rbg. Over the course of his NBA career he was a 19/9 guy and if you include his ABA numbers, that goes to 20/10. That's even with his drug problem and dropping off significantly his last three years in the NBA. He also led the US Olympic Team to gold in 1968 as the youngest player where he averaged almost 17 ppg and shot 71.9%. Dude was really good.

McKinney did come back and coach the Pacers a couple years later. I remember him being the coach when Sampson faced Stipanovich the first time they faced off after they were the #1 and #2 picks in the 83 draft.

I just looked it up he coached the Pacers for 4yrs and was interim coach for the Kings for 9 games after that.
