Anthony Davis is 6’10” and at least 255 lbs. He isn’t some small or even skinny man. He is carrying a lot of weight on his body. If anything he needs to LOSE weight. This isn’t 1995 anymore. He has gained nearly 40 lbs since he joined the NBA.
Anthony Davis was much thicker than Chet in school. Not even a comparison. Compare Chet to Manute Bol, Bol Bol, Chris Bouche, etc. Even those fellow toothpicks still had thicker arms and legs than Chet. Chet will get pushed around like he did by the tougher competition in the tournament.
Green fell down a lot too and avoided contact way more than Chet does. Green even landed awkwardly on one leg with zero contact. Most skinny players tend to have strength and core issues. But not all skinny players are injury prone. Neither Green or Chet have a history with injuries. Even big guys like Zion and Paolo actually have REAL history with injury concerns.
And AD was 220 lbs when he was drafted. A whopping 4 lbs more than Mobley who CF swore was never going to make it through an NBA season without snapping in half. I'm certain that Chet will weigh more than his college listed 196 during official combine weigh ins. Gaining weight is not as impossible as all these agenda driven posters are making it seem.
I cant wait to start seeing the workout film trickle out. Like last year with Evan Mobley v Steven Adams. It would go a long way to answer some question marks with all the prospects. I'd love to see Chet v Sengun in a 1v1 for example. Same for the other prospects. Which one will come in here and blow the doors off the Toyota Center the way Jalen Green did?
I'm not going to speculate about whether or not Chet can add enough muscle to his frame to counteract the rigors of NBA basketball, but let's stop with this nonsense that all thin guys are the same. Every guy brings his own natural ability to gain muscle and fat, and it's all different. Just because KD and KG could do it doesn't mean Chet can. It also doesn't mean he can't. But things like genetics, metabolism, healing rates, etc play a huge part in all of this, and that's frankly an unknown at this time. The kid is a great player, and has a fabulous IQ for the game. He's also a huge risk in regards to whether he can add the weight he'd need to in the timeframe required to do it. Both things are true.
Green would avoid/shy away from contact as a guard. He would land awkward while attacking the rim no? That is Chet tripping over his own two feet or losing his balance just sliding his feet there is no change of direction. That's not good. What injury history does Banchero have? I am not aware.
Chet broke Paolo by getting him to chase him around, sweat too much, and then get cramps. Edit: This is hyperbole meant to match the hyperbole about Chet's injury concerns.
1. Posters who believe Chet weight will lead to chronic injuries even though he has had no history of injuries or even health concerns up to now. 2. Posters who believe Chet completely incapable of adding weight like Green, Mobley, Giannis, AD, KD, KG, Yao, Ralph, Jabar, Wilt, etc.
Already 255 so does he balloon to 300+ like Zion? Chronic cramping hampers his availability each game? It's all tongue in cheek man, just showing how silly this is with all the amateur medical projections in here.
What’s fun about claiming Chet is an injury risk? Specially when he’s played at a higher level much more frequently than Paolo and has never been hurt.
Where are you getting that he played at a higher level much more frequently than Paolo? I thought they were both excellent as freshmen, and Paolo played in a much more difficult conference.
