No I’m not being sarcastic at all. I guess I’m the only one that’s seeing it in a different way. It just looks to me like if Green DID NOT hold his jersey, the dude would have fell hard(er). That’s the way I’m seeing it for some reason. Also, I’m not a Warriors fan or a Draymond fan, I just think that was a flagrant 1, not a 2.
If Green never grabbed his jersey the guy would have dunked the ball and be hanging on the rim. He pulled him down by the jersey while he was jumping up vertically into the air. Look at how far his jersey is extended away from his chest in a downward motion. It was a really dirty play.
Memphis might have won yesterday if they didn’t kick Green out. The ejection of a player on a team like GS when they feel they don’t deserve it often has unintended effects. This might reverberate the whole series. Instead of saying “ok, we’ll get them next game” the Warriors kept their foot on the gas and played it like it was game 7. The refs put themselves in the series with that call.
I'd ask you to watch it again. The whole video is a good watch, but for the play, start at 2:07 - there's multiple camera angles. If Draymond never put his hands anywhere near Clarke, would Clarke ever come down at an awkward trajectory, like that?
If i punch you in the face but then hold you down from falling to the ground harder then needed, am i the hero?
He went for his eye poke/gouge, and it was more risky this time because it was on an airborne player. Then he frantically grabbed his jersey when he realized it actually connected to help him brace his fall. I like how the official set a precedent early to prevent it from occurring again in this series.
Dude? The reason he hit the ground in the 1st place was because he grabbed his jersey and that made him be off balance. Are you kin to Draymont? You are completely wrong or never actually watched the play, the hit to the face was all that was needed for flagrant 2 in the 1st place.
Meh, I dunno. Looked too much like professional wrestling to me. But that's also big in Memphis, I hear.
They really should have upgraded it. The hit to the face is a flagrant 1 easily and the jersey grab/throwdown is the definition of a flagrant 2. It should be 3 points but he's a warrior so he gets away with it
Whole Bay Area up in arms about it, but it's pretty simple: Can you try to not hit players in the face, ever, but especially when a shooter is vulnerable? Can you try to not grab people's jerseys and pull them toward the floor? 99% of basketball players can accomplish those basic things, even the completely uncoordinated middle-aged fat guys.
The completely uncoordinated middle-aged fat guys are too slow to hit a moving player in the face and/or grab his jersey. I know. I tried that.
Why did they not show this during the broadcast? GSW fans still trying to say that’s going for the ball…lulz
