I think the guy that has the biggest chance of being a huge disappointment is Smith, his game is the most one dimensional and can be shut down.

He will always get a job because of the shooting but I can see him topping out as a rotational guy.

I'm just sorry that I saw a video of Chet playing with some guys against some other guys in a gym without a t-shirt on. Sort of freaked me out. Chet is thin. In fact, the word thin might be an understatement. Loads of talent, though.

Yeah, I could be very wrong and the fact that some of the people I trust most on this site believe in Chet makes me second guess my eye test.

Exactly. He's got the highest upside. But, also...a huge amount of downside risk too. The two sandwiches short of thin look is disarming. Maybe he really IS a freakish athlete that can not only withstand the rigors of the NBA, but eventually impose his will. For now, he seems an injury waiting to happen. IMO too much risk for a a player being picked so high.

Giannis literally built like a praying mantis entering the league

AD built like the bench press bar

    KG built like a bobblehead

Mobley had malnourished baby shoulders, flamingo legs, and his ass was up near his neck

now it’s Chet’s turn to be the guy who is too skinny and weak for the NBA, to the point he could be bullied out the league

I don't think Chet's going to be a bust. He will at minimum be a solid starter on any team. This is a good breakdown of his game.

Him having such a thin frame is what scares me personally

Sengun and Bruno have the muscles covered, we just need Chet to bring that help rim protection and perimeter D at the 4 spot

I think Chet will make a huge impact defensively…that’s a given to me

    I expect elite rim protection

I think he will be a solid shooter…maybe 36-37% from deep on decent volume, and be a good free throw shooter for a big

any big who is mobile and skilled can finesse at least 15-17 ppg just by running the floor and PnR/PnP…my only question is if Chet can level up to 23-24 ppg as the years go by or maybe 21-22 ppg

he will be that guy where the stats show that the team is much better with him on the court…he is the type of guy to have a 115+ offensive rating and a like a 104 defensive rating

    Chet me out

I figure that he can at least be a solid rotation/starter just because he can really shoot well from distance and he is a good to very good defender. That should give him a Harrison Barnes type career if he gives effort. The problem is that I have some concern with his ball handling and that really caps his scoring at 18 points a game.

Wiggins was a more talented player with similar limitations and for all the talk of his improvement, the reality is he isn't very good.

The funny thing is these skinny ass guys with small shoulders and high ass are damm good defenders.

And ZERO history of injuries, including skinny ass small shouldered Jalen Green here too.

Unlike the 255 pounder who doesnt care about defense and sweats out 40 lbs every game.

If he doesn't cramp out of games.

AD has his injury issues, but people act like every skinny big coming into the league is gonna get massacred

dudes were saying just last summer that Mobley might not be any good until year 4 because he’s so skinny and weak…mini shoulders Mobley damn near won ROY

The reason people are concerned with skinny bigs coming into the league is because unlike a skinny Durant or Giannis, these bigs come into the league and immediately match up with the hulking bigs of the NBA. Now, they won't necessarily get slaughtered as they are talented, but there is a much higher risk considering they are going up against players with significantly more muscle mass. The grind and pound of the NBA is already no joke. You add being scrawny and general lack of NBA conditioning on top of that and you either end up with players trying to bulk up too quickly and hurting themselves, playing below expectations, or getting hurt from being pummeled inside game after game. Now, does this happen with all bigs? Of course not as Kevin Garnett is a great example. That said, history has proven time and time again that the risk IS there.

There's a long answer to this, but I'll just simply say Durant didn't come into the league expecting to be defending the rim at an elite level. His offensive skills allowed for his frame. Holmgren has skills, but Durant and Holmgren have two very different skills they hang their hat on coming into the league

well lets not act like the league has bigs only guarding bigs as much as the past. The modern era of the league has bigs having to guard out on the perimeter significantly. In fact that's a big box to be able to check off when evaluating bigs coming into the league. that's why you see the apparently dominant bigs in college that aren't even NBA draft worthy. There's two bigs in the league that actually play like it. Jokic/Embiid. Nobody is capable of stopping them in the league anyway. Every other big in the league floats outside a ton and is not a every night threat down low.

The notion that the big bad bigs in the league of the NBA are just going to run down Chet is just completely overstated. Folks have been saying that after Chet plays at every level and folks are still waiting.

Chet is thinner than all of those guys. Go look up BMIs.
