I think reasonable Republicans should give Biden credit for his handling of this crisis so far.

They were part of Russia prior to that.......the eastern part of what is the ukraine was part of the Russian empire, controlled by the Romanov family (Tsars), and the western part the Hapsburg family (Austro Hungary), they lost it temporarily due to their own civil war, but regained it some time later (and then some more), the Poles tried to genocide the Russians out of there, and then when they got it back, they returned the favour, a complete cluster of crap that region is and has been.

One can argue that it doesn't give a right to invade, but to suggest it wasn't Russia's prior to the USSR is just plain historically illiterate.

I think his team has been really good, and his work with other world leaders looks to have helped. As per his whole life, when he goes off script in public speaking, yikes. :D But I agree with you overall.

Ron Paul is suggesting it does, that today Russia has a claim to Ukraine and by that extension all of that on the historic map. Yea to the Russian Empire by whatever barbaric means.

I can’t remember anyone here saying the guy is evil. Elon is Elon for better or worse. I mean if the only positive thing he does is sell the right on electric non carbon emitting cars, he’s done a great service to humanity.

Tesla’s investment in mass solar panel distribution and the advertising I see on social is a game changer. And his Mars initiative will by default push science on terraforming which will in part help us save the earth if terraforming is possible to alter atmospheric conditions.

So yeah… Elon isn’t a pure villain. He’s more Tony Stark than Thanos, but like Tony Stark he is also capable of creating just as many problems as he’s trying to solve by being a narcissist with nobody in his life to tell him he’s wrong and pressure test him or limits to what he can spend on whatever grinds his gears any day of the week.

It’s pretty funny that Elon Musks fans who only like him because he’s mr free speech (even though he’s obviously not) are so anti free speech when it comes to debate about the richest man in the world given the keys to the earth to both save the world as well as destroy it with nobody left to pressure test decisions made that could impact everyone for better or worse.

The Swedes are firing up their Volvos as we speak, hope everyone likes pickled herring. I'm sure they can come to some sort of peaceful agreement with the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth (which sizable parts of Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia belonged to). I'm also sure Russia won't mind surrendering St. Petersburg and all of their access to the Baltic Sea.
