His defense and ball handling have also improved.

I like his natural tools and improving production.

He averaged 37% from 3P in college with .588 TS%.

    And DRTG of 89.1.

He and KJ should be sharing reps at the 3. Need to trade Tate while his value is at its highest.

Cause he’s like 24 and still can’t get out of the g league

Why would you waste time on him over guys like KPJ, Christopher, and even Nix

Considering Nix is a scrub in the NBA but became finals mvp in GLeague Queen needs to ball out first in gleague before coach gives him a shot.

Unless DRTG is one of lowest in NCAA it's not the most reliable value. The more extreme the outlier the better when it comes to DRTG.

Steal rate may be better indicator to translate to NBA defensive success.

DRTG is defensive stops calculation (e.g. steals, blocks, deflections, etc.).

However, DBPM (defensive box plus minus) and/or VORP may be the more accurate indicator for NBA translation success imo.

The flipside to steal rate is WS (win share) for offensive success.

Guess who among the top 5 in this draft has highest DBPM, DRTG, TS and WS:

    Chet Holmgren

G League is way different to NBA, the way he scores he wouldn’t be able to do it in the big league and he doesn’t do anything else but score.

He has upside but him gaining confidence in the G League finals and winning MVP was probably better for his confidence going into the offseason/summer league then playing 10 minutes being a spot up shooter.

Silas actually wanted to call him up around the trade deadline, he was waiting for the EG trade hammer to fall, but it never happened.

Silas was under pressure from the front office during the big losing streak, Stone stressed to Silas that the FO and coaches needed to have one vision with the rotation, and both Stone and Silas agreed Queen deserved a shot.

So coach Steve called him up that night to break the news about a call-up, but Queen knew he was on pace for the G-League MVP, he knew the Vipers could win a ring, he could sense a kind of magic brewing on the border... he proclaimed to Silas, please coach, don't stop me now. Silas was befuddled by his response, just laughed and said okay the show must go on.

Queen was right though. He won MVP, and the Vipers won a championship. Silas called to congratulate him after the game, but he had to ask him, was it all worth it? Passing on the opportunity in the NBA for G-league accolades?

Queen had no doubt in his mind. Queen said, of course coach, we are the champions.

Nix wasn't G-League Finals MVP - Queen was. Queen was League MVP, FInals MVP, All NBA G-League Team, and All NBA G-League Defensive Team... he balled out in the G-League.

Rockets offered Queen the deal they gave Matthews but Queen wouldn't take it. Wanted either 1 or 2 yr deal. Settled on 2-way deal to become RFA, betting on himself.

He's better than both Matthews and KJ Martin. Rockets need to trade both those guys (and Tate) and sign Queen to a small free agent deal if no other team makes him a restricted offer that the Rockets can't afford to match.

If there's no free agent interest in Queen don't be surprised if he signs with Maccabi (or possibly another Euro club) for a substantial Euro deal and becomes a superstar over there.
