i have been saying for years thybulle is fools gold. great offense always bears great defense. as an offensive liability he will never be able to play in the playoffs. he can help you win regular season games against orlando and okc but a total minus in the playoffs
Definitely is a coaching issue. I really do like Embiid, but he's not going to be winning sh*t in Philly as long Doc is there.
He had some stinkers in Houston but the way he's playing this series is many levels below what he did on the Rockets. He'd have uninspired play but still get you 30 a game in the playoffs. This is just completely sad to watch.
People imagined a Harden-Embiid pick-and-roll as something impossible to defend, but didn't think of whether or not Embiid could or would like to run that over and over.
Who says shiit like that? Especially when he’s the one that’s underperformed the most by far out of anyone on the team. This bum MFer delusional just like his fanbois. Acting like he only played with scrubs before and as if his laundry list of playoff failures don’t exist. Sorry Jimbo…. super max players gotta be the ones carrying. They can’t be the ones to be carried. Also, what kind of “leader/superstar” calls out their teammates after shooting 4/11 and having 5 turnovers? A bonafide loser that’s who.
^^^^^ I just realized that’s from ballsack sports so Harden prob didn’t actually say that but the accuracy and believability is spot on. What can I say…. They got me again. Just like them making up that Kyrie Irving called Harden “washed” and roasting him in practice. All sounds way too believable.
https://www.nba.com/stats/events/?C...Playoffs&TeamID=&flag=3&sct=plot§ion=game Watched all of his FG attempts and two things I see: Harden has been atrocious finishing around the basket. Father time got him, the hammy isn't the same, Harden being Harden/hardheaded in trying to draw fouls instead of actually finishing the basket, etc. whatever it is he's shooting 18% between 3-10ft from the basket. For reference, he shot 39% from the same zone in the 2017-2018 postseason. That floater he, for some reason, loves to throw up there is just not working. Shoutout to the Toronto defense though--I had them as the sleeper pick in the other thread and they're making me look good right now. OG, Siakam, Barnes, Achiuwa...so many versatile defenders. He's shooting about 38% from three which is his highest % in about 8 years. But why the hell is he insistent on taking the ball to the hoop when he's so bad at doing it right now?
The criticism is definitely warranted. You don't stir up the pot and force your way onto another team and don't show up like Harden. That being said, there shouldn't be any reality where Danny Green gets 32 minutes a night in the playoffs in the year 2022, especially when you have a better defender (Thybulle) and a better shooter (Niang) on the roster. If the Sixers go on and execute the biggest choke job in NBA history the blame order goes: 1. Harden 1B. Rivers Every year that Doc's teams flame out it's always one thing--lack of adjustments. This year won't be any different.
During the season Embiid was the roll man in pick and roll actions about 16% of his plays and those plays scored 1.24 PPP During these playoffs he is the roll man in pick and roll actions about 9% of the time and those plays are scoring 0.91 PPP Seems like Toronto is defending it well.
I think certain players developed what I call 'Lakers syndrome'. They think they can retool every offseason and be a contender every season, feeling entitled and demanding changes.
