Jalen views this season as a failure since he didn’t get ROY. He will be balling out next year.

Greens consistency was a problem before the draft. He seems to have worked that out.

OP might be the biggest (non-JOF) Jalen Green fan on the site…he’s not saying Jalen is a loser

say want you will about Hollins, but we never had a guy who could cape for the Rockets players to other players and media people. I know I cry about Narrative, but im telling you that stuff matters.

that narrative will push you into another echelon of player. Westbrook has the been the same player for years, playing the same ball, it's only this year when he lost the narrative and now people finally thinks he sucks.

You give Bill Simmons the chance to replace Payton Pritchard with Jalen Green on the Celtics roster and he'll probably double down and buy a Pritchard Celtics jersey.

Look, I get it. Jalen actually put together a decent rookie season after starting off choppy, and towards the end really thrived and showed flashes of elite scoring.

But if he's on the All-Rookie Second Team, I don't think that's a snub. Herb Jones, unlike Green, was consistently played down the stretch of games in the beginning of the season. His defensive stats are tough to overlook -- deflections, steels, blocks, etc. and he's been pretty consistent all season.

Green for the first half of the season (maybe even the first 50-60 games) was often a spectator on the court. Silas chose to have him camp out in corners and run the offense through KPJ and veterans. When games were close, Green often sat down the stretch of close games. I don't blame Green for this, but I think it's tough to look at a small sample size (last 15-20 games) and use that to build a case when the guys ahead of him -- Franz, Cade, Mobley, Barnes, and Jones -- were all integral to their teams, played down the stretch of games from the very start of the season, and were handed the ball more often than Green who didn't get anything close to free rein till about 10 games left in the season.

Jalen Green didn’t play well for just 15-20 games…that was the stretch where he was the best rookie, but his final 45 games, he averaged 18, 4, and 3 on 44/35/78 shooting splits…that’s almost 70% of his games played

Jalen Green didn’t often sit down the stretch of close games, not sure where that’s coming from. He did sit out garbage time for most of the year tho.

Herb over Jalen Green is ridiculous, but it is what it is…just prepare for more Jalen Green snubs in the future

Not really. Maybe the games before his injury, but not after, which was a good chunk of the season

Green played in 67 games this season. The NBA usage rate for an average player is 20%. Green was under 20% for a full 41 of 67 games. He ended the season with 23.7% usage rate, but that number was built up by the last 15+ games of the season (3 of his top 4 usage games were in the last week of the season).

Ah, I think I might have misinterpreted your comment. I saw where I quoted and stopped reading AND misinterpreted your comment. My bad

I was casually reading and interpreted your comment as Green didn't start playing well until the last 10 games or so
