KD will stay in Brooklyn, but if anyone pay attention to his play lately he's not the same player that puts fear in opponents eyes. he's not as dominate as before especially in the clutch time. and he'll be 34 before next season start. i'm very optimistic about the Nets picks

If the league is concerned with the Nets picks they can go ahead and give us the number 1 pick now.

And hopefully we improve enough so we don’t need the pick swaps, we won’t make any promises though.

No. He'll be pissed and Nash will be fired immediately, but I think the Nets run it out there one more season. Durant is locked up long-term and can't go anywhere and they haven't had a chance to see how the team will look with Simmons on the court.

The only thing that could cause the entire organization to implode is if Kyrie opts out of the final year of his contract and makes it known publicly that he isn't resigning with Brooklyn. Then their front office will immediately be looking to unload Durant and get a bunch of picks in return to replenish what they gave up to the Rockets.

Trade them pick 17, Christian Wood, David Nwaba and Eric Gordon for Ben Simmons.

It makes them more balanced and less top heavy but also allows the Rockets to maintain draft assets going forward and turning the Harden trade into a more tangible asset.

KD is going nowhere. If anything, Kyrie will retire. But no, KD is not leaving.

I don't think Kyrie will be back. Durant and Simmons are going to be their guys going forward. Not sure where their cap space situation lies. If Durant stays healthy the Nets will be fine, but that is a big if. I suspect they will try and add another piece, but not sure what kind of flexibility they will have.

Who cares if we need them? If their pick is better we are taking their pick.

None. Two max guys damn near cripples you and they have 3. Would anyone in the league be willing to trade for Kyrie on a max contract? Maybe the Lakers for Westbrook. But that doesn't help the Nets except if Westbrook is willing to take a buyout and it helps them clear Kyrie off the books. Still not sure that clears enough cap room for them to be relevant in free agency though.

Absolutely no team in this league would trade for Ben Simmons right now. You'd have to give him away at this point. The guy might be the single most toxic NBA player the league has seen. He will literally be Exhibit A at the next CBA.

I was assuming Kyrie opts out or retires. Still don’t know how much cap they’ll have and very little flexibility for trades.

Edit: they do have a 11m trade exception for Harden and 8m for Deandre Jordan. They also have the PHI picks they got in the Harden trade, so they might be able to do something via trade. Who knows maybe Wood and Gordon? Might as well take all their draft assets plus Gary Harris.

Oh there is no way in hell the Rockets will send them players that make them better and hurt our picks. They'll need to find them elsewhere. But there aren't many teams that will be looking to dump quality players just to clear salary. Just like with Gordon and Wood, teams expect picks back for quality players. And the Nets have no picks to trade. A guy that only commands a second round pick is unlikely to improve their team.
