I think Banchero is underrated on the bbs but at the same time, I still have Smith, Holmgren above him and Ivey very close. A lot of that based on what we already have and me having a high level of belief in Alpi.
I think BBS is split fairly evenly between Banchero and Chet. Jabari and Ivey are the ones clearly trailing behind those 2.
Yea it's pretty easy to sign rim protection, shooting, or long defenders... What Banchero is, is a lot harder to find.
No. Doncic is an MVP-caliber player because he has elite vision & passing. Banchero has pretty good playmaking skills for his size. The idea that he is special in that regard is weird to me; if he is, he hasn’t shown it.
Yeah, he looks pretty amazing when you look at his whole skillset on film. He was also the most consistent top pick under pressure and in the tournament. So he'll likely be mentally strong in a playoff series, he's bigger and has a better NBA-ready body or versatility in his skillset than the others. He may actually walk in and get Rookie of the year. I may have Chet over him based on two-way potential, but I don't know if Smith is that much better on defense to justify picking him over Banchero. He is the superior shooter absolutely but isn't close to Paulo with his full offensive skillset.
So happy Sharpe declared. Already getting number 1 pick hype from an extremely trusted draft analyst. Game changer.
Yea Banchero has got to be one of the early front runners but I believe both he and Chet will need a lot of conditioning work. Banchero looks pretty winded at times during games and Chet offense numbers dive against better competition (FTs). Don't really know. I imagine Liddell and Murray are going to come out on fire depending on what teams they end up.
Exactly. This perceived 4 player draft becoming a 5 player draft would be huge. May not be all hype though. Look at Sharpe’s rankings coming out of HS last year. He was ranked number 1 OVER Chet, Paolo, and Jabari and the previous year he was only behind Chet and Paolo. He might very well be legit. Sharpe's last RSCI rank: ESPN: #1 in 2022, de-ranked Rivals: #1 in 2022, #3 in 2021 behind Chet, Paolo 247: #1 in 2022, #3 in 2021 behind Chet, Paolo
He was ranked #1 in the 2022 class. Chet and Paolo were 2021 class. I don't believe he was ever ranked above Holmgren or Banchero.
I saw another video of Sharpe abusing some dude that was 6 inches shorter and 30lbs lighter .... who didn't move his feet much, Sharpe was getting dunks and layups one after another .... He's really hard to judge ....
This is a full hour discussion focused on Sharpe. Cliff's notes: Potential to be a "nuclear" level scorer Beautiful jump shot Not a three level scorer, currently has no in between game to speak of Court vision is adequate but nothing special, tends to make the right basic pass Defense is atrocious with no regard for team responsibilities, constant gambling, and "it looks like he's never successfully navigated a screen in his life" Personally, I find him to be an intriguing "lottery ticket" prospect, but I'm not big on taking a guy we haven't seen for a year, so I'm not putting him over the consensus top 4. And due to the skill / positional overlap with Green, I have Murray over him if we're selecting at 5 and he's there. Ideally, we'd trade back a spot in that scenario, as I'm sure there are plenty of other teams excited to take a chance on him.
He defended really well in international competition and at times in college. He has all of the physical attributes to be a good defender.
Good luck signing a player that has the type of overall impact on the defense that Holmgren does. He isn’t just a rim protector and his impact on defense goes well beyond that.
