I don't know if they would, but they dump Kemba, pick up two contributors and move down six spots in the Draft.
Let's expand this trade for the hell of it (taking out McBride) Knicks get: Kelly Oubre, Jae'Sean Tate, #17 Hornets get: Christian Wood Blazers get: Eric Gordon, #11, #13 Rockets get: Kemba Walker, Nick Richards, Eric Bledsoe, #6 Rockets draft Mathurin from Arizona at #6 to go with their Top 3 pick. Buyout Eric Bledsoe, utilize the cap space and role out a lineup next year of... KPJ/Kemba/Nix Green/Christopher/Matthews Mathurin/KMJ/Nwaba Top 3 Pick/Garuba Sengun/Veteran C Perfect roster filled with young talent but not good enough to win yet, assuring ourselves another top 10 pick next year and setting ourselves up to make winning moves.

Nicely done. That's impressive. I think Portland is going to need players and they can still get two good prospects. There are a lot of variables there but it's still a well-done hypothetical.
I like the idea of going full youth lineup - but there is a very real danger in learning to lose and developing bad habits. I think I like what we have in Green. If we manage to get a top 2 pick, I am pretty interested in seeing what complimentary vets we might find to support Jalen/ top2/ KPjr as a core. I'm thinking vets who don't need to be the focal point, and can play significant supporting roles at the 3 and 4/5 positions, and who don't comprimise 2023 cap space (ok, so it is a limited group!)
https://www.blazersedge.com/2022/4/...ft-pick-costly-outcome-portland-trail-blazers But would Portland part with their pick for #17 and Christian Wood?
Why take Detroit out? The goal shouldn't be to make Portland want our package, it should be to make Detroit want it enough to trade Grant, then flip Grant.
Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown Change in Team Outlook: -13.7 ppg, -11.0 rpg, and -3.8 apg. 3 trades (3rd less likely) 1. Hou: Richardson, Collins (cut) and pick 9 Sas: Wood, Tate, Matthews and pick 17 Why the spurs do this? All 3 are around the same age timeline as Poetl and Murray without giving much besides 8 spots down and a role player. Why the rockets do this? You move up in the draft and free up minutes for younger guys to play while also adding a vet to go with Nwaba. 2. Hou: Bledsoe(cut), Greg Brown III and pick 6 Por: Gordon and pick 9 Why the blazers do this? You move 3 spots down and add a strong vet to a team that’s less likely to sign big names or any key role players in FA. Why the rockets do this? You get value for a vet that served you well by moving up 3 spots and you shed salary in the process. 3. Hou: Fox, Robinson, Len and Burke Sac: Wall, KPJ, Powell, Kleber, Josh Green, pick 26, 2023 1st (bucks) Dal: Barnes and Holmes Knicks: Cap Exception Why the kings do this? You get off fox and Holmes contract by adding a vet all star in Wall, a rising guard in the league and a unproven lottery pick wing with potential and 2 late firsts. Why the mavericks do this? You upgrade the center and wing spot by only giving up Josh green, salary fillers and a late 1st. Why the knicks do this? Create a trade exception to pair with other salary for a star caliber player. Why the rockets do this? You speed up the rebuild while also staying in rebuild mode. You get a franchise piece in Fox along with a starting defensive center that is much needed along with a backup point and center to go with veterans like Richardson & Nwaba Fox/Burke/Nix Green/Christopher/Nwaba Mathurin/Richardson/Greg Brown Jabari/Martin Jr/Garuba Mitchell/Sengun/Len
if Charlotte wanted Wood I think they would have nabbed him at the deadline. Something in me thinks Jordan wanted to part of his attitude.
#17, Tate(possibly to 3rd team)and our 2023 unprotected pick for Dejounte Murray, #9 and Jakob Poetl. #9 becomes Mathurin, Eason or Sochan. We take Jabari Smith. Poetl/Garuba Smith/Sengun KPJ/KMJ Green/Mathurin Murray/Nix Still leaves Wood and Gordon to be traded for assets. I think we win enough games to risk trading 2023 pick but that it still holds enough top end value to entice SA.
A future first and Tate for a significant swap this year and the Spurs’ best player is an “overpay”? I respectfully disagree.
No where close to enough for an all star point guard. Murray would cost us at least 3 first round picks.
