The Astros cannot afford to keep Odorizzi in the rotation for much longer. Expel him from the rotation and put Javier in.
**** that . Make his bum ass pitch 6 innings.. Don't save him by using the BP.. let's see how terrible he really is
Crane must have appreciated the Tampa model of maintaining competitiveness on a budget. Luhnow was much better at building through the draft than at building via trades and free agency. He had some real clunkers in there, too. I just look at Click as a guy who is still inexperienced at his job and is restrained by Crane's budgetary concerns. The Astros organization is unafraid to let a lot of good people go at every level if they ask for too much money.
I hate that Odorizzi is still an Astro. He had the worst attitude and body language last season. Overpaid bum ass.
I suspect om going to spend most of my evening checking out all 1000 of the Texans mock draft results.
This is year 3. The "depth options" have been lousy. They extended on injury prone pitchers and let young, talented hitters walk. They had to eat into their already depleted farm system to buck up a lousy bullpen because Click overspent on a washed up Baez. Seriously, when Phil Maton is your big acquisition this long into your tenure, that's not good enough. Sorry.
Is anyone still defending Odorizzi? Yeah, he was getting squeezed today, but this is ridiculous. He may have used to be a good pitcher, but he isn't good enough to be in our rotation ANY MORE. It's infuriating.
