Does anybody know how much Tmac is asking for to resign with the Rockets? I mean I hope he's not looking for KOBE/SHAQ/KG/CWebb kinda money which I know he can almost get.

It seems like Francis has giving in to the deal and the trade is basically set, but I'm hoping Tmac isn't asking for like 20mil+ a year?

Hope we dont have a problem resigning YAO/Tmac in the future.

T-Mac will most assuredly get the Maximum salary available under the CBA. And we would be HAPPY to pay it. He is a Top 5 NBA Talent. He is worth the Max no question. I would guess it would start in the mid teens.

"Well Tracy, I know we gave Steve Francis max money, and we traded him and Mobley for you, and you're younger, taller, and have been much more prolific in your career, but I just don't think we can give you the same money we were willing to give to Steve. He does that cool scissor kick then when he dribbles the ball up the court."

Why wouldn't you give him as much money as Kobe? And you wouldn't pay him as much as CWebb?

his deal doesn't come up for 3 more years (unless he ops out - to get a new MAX deal) - but he will sign here (that is why they want to get him)

you can sign Yao too for the Max b/c of his Bird rights .... what you need to be concerned about is (with all the guarenteed money like Howard, Mo T, Yao and T-mac) we need to sure we can use some of the money that will be freed up from guys like Spoon coming off the books next year (i.e. it won't get eaten up by the Max salarys already hitting the cap)

God, how I hated it when he did that garbage.

What exactly goes through his mind when he is dribbling the ball up court? "Hey, I think I'll do a scissor kick while dribbling!" Idiocy.

T-Mac is a top 5 player. There are probably 40-50 players that are paid MAX per CBA. Most of them overpaid, like Houston at 17mil, Mutombo at 18 mil, Webber at 17 mil, Stoudamire at 15 mil. Would you rather pay those players MAX, or a top-5 player MAX?

New York has 3 max players.
Stephon Marbury,Allan Houston,Penny Hardaway and they suck.

All three of those guys are getting paid max or at least close to it.
This deal for us ,the mcgrady deal, is good for us if it happens. Not only will we be able to resign Yao for a max contract but also Mcgrady.
Spoons deal ends in about Two years and taylors ends in about 3 years. Thats about the same time Mcgrady's contract ends if he chooses to not opt out of his contract.
Juwon Howards contract isn't that horrible like speculated. He was a Free Agent last year and signed as one with Orlando last year. So he makes about MLE or close to it. About what Mobley makes or close to it.
2005 or 2006 is when everyone is off the books except Steve Francis.
So in about a few years we could very well makes some moves after locking down McGrady and Yao.
