I simulated the lottery on tankathon one time this morning. OKC received picks 2 and 3. I threw my computer across the room and am now posting this message from my etch-a-sketch
I'll never be a god, nor a genius, but I have been a warrior for much of my life. That's enough for me.
Will be interesting to watch how Detroit and Houston evolve over time.... very similar circumstances. Both leading the tank charge, though Detroit one year ahead. Both have vets with value in Grant / Wood. Will be a competition to see how to extract long term value out of them. Will have Cade vs Green comparisons for years, and hopefully Chet vs Jabari as well. Detroit has been laughably bad at drafting, although they never gave themselves high enough picks: https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/DET/draft.html I feel like we are in a better spot, but the next two drafts could change things.
we need to tank one more time next year. trade wood, gordon, tate, and role with our rookies. then sign someone next summer after one more great pick. i don't want to go for the playin i'd rather have another pick and let our youngsters get better.
CBS has Ivey ranked #1 now and Jabari #4. Ochai has also jumped into top 10. It's getting spicy now fam, loving all this movement. https://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft/prospect-rankings/point-guards/
DET has the better #1 prospect but the Rockets have Sengun and a couple extra picks. And Houston is a much better destination than Detroit.
Houston should offer the 5th and the 17th plus Tate to move upto 3. JC is a better option instead of Tate, but I don't want to do that. None of the other bottom teams would like Wood in my opinion. Addendum: Add Martin to 5 plus 17 instead of Tate to grab Jabari at 3, if possible. Tate can come off the bench. Martin may have more trade value than Tate. @ApacheWarrior @D-rock @vator @don grahamleone
Not sure my friend. I do see Tate Eric Gordon Wood Nwaba Mathews Garuba Nix Queen as all tradable assets, whether it be individually or packaged. Perhaps Mathews/Garuba could sweeten a C Wood deal Schroder Bruno as sign and trades
I hope you're right. I hope Detroit will prefer Ivey over Jabari if they end up with the 3rd pick and OKC takes a leap of faith with Sharpe at 4, leaving Jabari at 5 into our lap. My gut feeling is Chet and Banchero will end up either at 1 or 2.
Yes my wish list is Jabari Then move up from #17 to get either Keegan Murray or Mathurin. Our 1-4 positions would be set for years since Jabari could fill in for that Wood spot eventually. Year to come:: Porter Green Jabari Wood Sengun Then the following year: Porter.....or Josh Christopher Green Keegan Murray or Mathurin Jabari Smith Sengun Either future drafts or free agency to find more rim protector/rebounders. Skills/scoring/facilitation coming from my 1-4 positions (including Sengun) and my 5 spot setting screens, rebounding and blocking shots.
