nothing on Twitter referencing any injuries. Maybe the game was slightly delayed? 4 walks in the 2nd…1.2 IP, 5 walks, 1 hit, 2 ER…hate to see it for such a stand up organization

Flipped over to twitter, searched Gerrit Cole, and enjoyed a nice cup of Yankee tears. They would have cheered an injury.

So...game 1 was bad because opening day festivities ran a little long

Game 2 was bad because of the noise they play in Yankee stadium with 2 strikes on the opposing hitter

Anxiously awaiting the game 3 excuse

Oh yeah, some are saying it's too cold. He had a long delay between the first and second innings and the cold got to him.

Yeah.... if only he wasn't the only pitcher in baseball that this happens to. He should blame the team that traded him to the Yankees. It's not like he had a choice in the matter. Oh...... wait

Cole was always a relatively disappointing pitcher, then went to Houston, became an ace (possibly due to the sticky stuff), and then sucks again once MLB has cracked down on it.

Spidertack ban has got to him mentally, he doesn’t think he can pitch without it so he can’t.

If batters can use pine-tar up to 18”s high, and use gloves, I don’t think it’s fair to disallow pitchers to use the sticky stuff.

Pitchers can use league-allowed sticky stuff, just like batters.

Did they change that this season? All I can find that is permissible is rosin. I know they were talking about that but never heard there was an agreement.

Rosin + sweat = legal sticky stuff

They haven't gone beyond that, I wish they would.
