I agree. I predicted that Korey Lee will be on the team this season. Not sure yet what that means...but if Castro isn't hitting in the chances he gets come mid-season, what's the point of having him here? Let Lee come up and learn behind Maldy for a while. Then next season, it transitions to Lee being full time with Maldy as the backup.

Lee is not playing well enough in AAA to warrant a call up at all, much less coming up to displace an established veteran. If we get to July and Lee has dominated AAA for 2-3 months and both Castro and Maldy are struggling mightily, then maybe it makes sense to give Lee the reins. I will be very very surprised if Lee gets more than 100 MLB pa this season.

Agreed. I would like to see him up even if it’s not in a big role if he hits. It’s really hard to break in a rookie catcher and that might pay dividends for 2023 if he gets his feet wet and sees the preparation that’s required to be a catcher in the major leagues.

Knowing Dusty, I would say 1 a week until the playoffs is likely.

    I’m no fan of Dusty

But the entire lineup has only been available to him for one game all year. So not much he can do about that

Pressly to the IL. Not great. Mushinski getting called up, hoping he can be a pleasant surprise.

Probably a good idea. Also, the Astros are coming up snake eyes when the extend their pitchers to big contracts. Jesus.

Usually when the Astros say it’s precautionary he could probably play through it you can figure on a couple months on the shelf. If there’s a medical procedure done of course.

I'm going to continue thinking Jeremy Pena is a star until he proves me otherwise. Looks like he has "it."

I find it interesting tomorrow's Starting Pitcher for the Astros Home Opener has not been announced yet. I'd say Framber has the highest chance with Garcia on being closer than we might think because of the upcoming streak of games on five days rest. A long shot would be Javier to begin the six pitcher rotation for the stretch of games one series early. The only starters off the table would be Odorizzi, Verlander and Urquidy.

I figured they would announce it while I was posting. But not yet.

Very weird to only have two starters averaging more than 4 Ks per 9 two times through the rotation.

Any suggestions on what time to arrive for SGAs? Which gate is best to walk through?

I'm usually in line 1hr before doors open for Rockets SGAs.
