Just a guess, but we should be able to get the equivalent of a late 1st or a move up from #17 to #10 for Wood. Does that sound right?

That doesn't really make any sense and you should know that we got 4 FRP last year now Stone thinks 2 FRPs in 1 draft is too much. Even if he really does think like that he can always bundle frps together and move up or trade his frps for future frps on draft night etc you can never have enough picks there's multiple ways to take advantage of them.

The return not being enough is subjective doesn't mean teams weren't interested. What if Stone wanted a lotto and young talents for Wood obv the return wouldn't be enough. But it doesn't mean nobody was interested in Wood its possible Stone wanted to keep him around till he is an expiring and then deal him then.

Stone isn't Morey he keeps his cards close to his chest (see his recent interview). Those quotes from him may just be a smokescreen.

Agree with OP on everything except his prospect rankings

    I have Jabari-Chet a close 1/2 and Paulo at 5

regardless, Stone needs to trade wood and Gordon asap. If he doesn’t it will further show his incompetence on navigating the trade market. How did he not learn under MAUREE, the most wheelin and dealin person this side of Rick Flair

Stone cannot allow Silas to roll the ball out next year with a lineup starting wood and Gordon again. Period.

You can only develop so much talent at one time. Taking four in one draft is not a normal thing. Turning around and having two in the upcoming (and by the trade deadline it was apparent Brooklyn's pick was going to be good) is more than enough. What they would like to do is offset the outgoing picks due to the russ trades.

Again even if you think 2 picks are too much you can always bundle picks and move up higher in the draft, or trade them away at draft night for future compensation. There's lots of way to handle picks you can't have enough picks. Say you got the 17th and 21 pick you can go to the 14th and say hey man here's the 2 picks for your pick boom you now got 2 lotto picks in this draft. And then you take that 14th pick and 5th pick and tell the 4rth pick hey man here's 2 picks for your pick boom now you got a top 4 prospect in a 4 man draft. It ain't Rocket science that's why you know that's just an excuse/smokescreen for some other reason.

I agree. However, the negatives you list, to me, are the reasons he might not bring what his numbers suggest he might. If we can see it from the couch, the professionals surely see the same. Have heard it in the national radio. Regardless, he needs to go for whatever we can get.

If we get any of the big 3 PFs and I see them set a real screen for Jalen, I'll probably cry.

Wood has more value than he gets credit for. He’s also not a forward, he’ll tell you that, but he probably should be. His defense isn’t acceptable for a center, I guess everyone knows that by now. He could be valuable paired next to someone who can cover his defensive deficiencies. He needs to be on a veteran team though, it would be best for everyone, so yeah, they need to move him, but they definitely should not give him away.

nba teams don’t generally move back for more picks. This isn’t the nfl.

future first rounders are valued higher than picks later in the draft than a trade target.

No, there is a chance we don't go forward and take, one Jaden Ivey, and then we will
need PF / Center bodies; especially ones that can shoot 3's as efficiently as Wood does.

Now if you tell me we can trade Wood and free up money and bring in Chris Boucher
through free agency. Then yes please.

Or if you say Porter and Green want him gone, then check please!

But what if Wood can play nice in a non-tanking situation.....Green and
Porter would have shot themselves in the foot. None of Jabari, Banchero or
Chet have proven themselves proficient at shooting NBA distant 3's for 82
    games as Wood has.

Not just at one spot on the 3-pt line like Chet does (see Chet shot chart).
Wood had a high average all along the 3-pt line. Means more spacing.

I've been pissed off since the trade deadline that we didn't already move on from Christian Wood.
