One of the greatest plays in Rockets history by the greatest of them all:

This was a day game, I remember it fairly well. Hakeem did this while observing Ramadan.

    The greatest.

I think we're at a point most of the posters in the GARM weren't alive to see Hakeem play.

A beautiful play, executed to perfection. Horry's pass couldn't have been better and Dream's shot hit nothing but net. Called by Bill and Calvin, with a great crowd at the Summit. How I miss all of it. Good bump, OP!

That's a scary thought! An exaggeration, but we're driving down that road.

An amusing video from "over the pond" with some solid advice about defeating static. Yes, 98.9% of you know this stuff already, but this is for that 1.1% still a bit confused. Besides, it's worth watching to hear this fellow say "electrical earth" multiple times. Enjoy!

We've come a long way in terms of the broadcast booth... Imagine having to watch The Rockets without Hollins...

Weird to see the Rockets/any team now playing 30+ yo starters/hof players in a meaningless late season game with no playoff seeding impact

Definitely different times. I miss those days, ie if you bought a ticket you probably were going to see your favorite players play that day. Unless they were actually injured etc.

Ugh. Those uniforms. Can't believe we traded in championship gear for that. And that court too--puke.

    I miss all of this:

Yeah it's interesting. Even though it was '95-'96, at that moment it was still the "glory days" as that team was the two-time defending champs getting ready for the playoffs. Still had the championship core playing well (well, well enough to end Magic Johnson's career in the first round before the second round sweep to the Sonics). Exciting times.

Yeah I think within a couple of years they will re-do the uniforms...again. The current set is far too bland and just looks like a knock-off version of the UH Cougars.

Surprised there hasn't been, at the very least, development of a secondary logo of a simple Rocket emoji-like logo. Would seem to be a hit with the younger generation.

We had the coach, the center, the right lineup, bench, and chemistry. Houston was in heaven because it finally had a major sports champion and we were on the map.

After going back-to-back, we thought we had another chance at the title.....but those damn Supersonics with Kemp, Payton, Schrempf, Perkins, McMillian, etc. had too much firepower to shut us down.

I hated it that we had to pull the plug on the nucleus the next season and go after fat ass Barkley and Scottie Quitten. That was the demise of the franchise and we were in purgatory until we got Yao.
