    bulls and gorden

Why would the bulls draft gorden with the great play of heinrich? If they play him at 2 is that hes tiny, and does that mean that they are letting crawford go? Can we make a run at heinrich? Not that we would have anything that the bulls want.

Deng is a great pick though.

Francis to Chicago?? Draft 2 PG w/ Hinrich

Why would the Bulls draft Gordon with the #3 pick!!! and Duhon while they still have Hinrich with Crawford at the 2. Something is fishy. Possible deal Franchise to Chicago for Hinrich and company???

That's a good question. The only thing I can think of is that the Bulls wanted the most NBA-ready players they could get. Most of the big men in the draft are pretty raw, and unlikely to contribute much for some years, although they did get Deng. Gordon could take Crawford's place as Hinrich's backcourt mate.

Gordon was very high on everyone's chart. People feel that he could play 2-guard in the NBA because of his strength and long arms. And he's probably one of the most NBA-ready players in this whole draft. I don't think that the Bulls can afford to get another high schooler.

That still doesn't make sense- Then Chicago still has 3 PG, they just exchange Francis for Hinrich.

And if they trade 2 of those PG to ORL, then Orlando has 3, including 2 rookies.

Maybe they though Gordon would be a 2. He's a little short for that though.

Maybe they were just going with who they thought was the best available. Maybe Chicago management is just r****ded.

I'm positive it's for a trade. Al Harington for Gordon and either Deng or Chandler?

Harrington's not worth Gordon straight up.

Gordon and Hinrich will play together. They'll be short, but they'll be quick and explosive. Deng will be rock solid, but unspectacular and they'll throw a lot of big bodies down low. Chicago should finally improve a lot this season.

    Hence the Deng/Chandler inclusion.

Gordon has a large wingspan and is incredibly athletic. i think those two factors make up for him not being tall. i see him sort of as a dwayne wade type although i would say he's a better shooter coming out of college but not as strong a finisher or quite as quick. i think the kid is gonna be a great player though.

the bulls have to get rid of some of their guards though. they have way too many now.

Why too would the Bulls add another Duke PG (Duhon)?

I think you read that backwards, emjohn. I wouldn't trade Gordon for Harrington let alone add in Deng. Harrington is quite overrated as a player.

Chicago had a great draft. Hinrich and Gordon start at guard. Duhon is a backup. Jamal Crawford is signed and traded this offseason.

More trades to come... a sign and trade of Crawford makes sense to me. Maybe they just let him walk. He doesn't really play team ball, jacks up wild shots, and despite his size and length is a lazy, unmotivated defender.

As far as Duhon goes he'll compete for the 3rd PG spot against the likes of Rick Brunson and Pargo. My guess is that he makes the team, but there are no guarantees... 2nd round picks are throwaways unless you're lucky and land a Cat or Boozer.

Chicago still wants Al Harrington and Indiana won't deal until they are sure they have ZERO shot a TMac or won't get any other offers.

Then the Pacers will try to acquire Gordon (unlikely) or Crawford (way more likely)

according to the bulls website, gorden will play the 2. Although, I still think in JVG's words, "it would not be productive for him to guard some of the 2's" in this league. Brunson was cut and wont be coming back last season. Pargo will be back at bargain price, but he is also a combo guard with no defense. So really they have 5 combo guards, 4 if they dont lose jamal. Jamal used to play the point too. Their backcourt is pretty young, and very very talented.

Hienrich is a a great "pure" pg, and so is Duhon. Pargo can score, and so can gorden at the 2 (although both are tiny). Jamal is most likely gone.

I am still obsessed with Hienrich, even though I am pretty sure that he is untouchable, and if the t-mac trade comes through we wont have any pieces. Maybe hell come to us in a 3 way with orlando.
