Hotwheels and Matchbox shortage?

We used to build out track in the game room that had several motors and we could get them zipping around jumping doing loops all on their own .....it was awesome.

Wife would be like....how long are you leaving that up.....me and the boys....

There's also Tomica and Siku. If your kid is rough with their toys. The Siku cars aren't as durable.

 

We’re at that point now. Hot wheels every day. You can 3D print adapters for Lego, Duplo and Mega Blocks to build some insane bridges.

 

I was at Kroger last night and the Hot Wheels were very sparse. It's weird.

Also, there's a tabletop game called Gaslands that uses hot wheels to play a post-apocalyptical Mad-Max style strategy game. I can't really spin it as anything other than really dorky but it's a way to get more mileage out of your old Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars.

Same, my folks recently brought me all my old diecast cars from when I was a kid. I have 3 drawers full of those things with mfg date dating back to the 50's and 60's .

I always preferred Matchbox to Hot Wheels. They were more durable & based on actual cars. Hot Wheels were based on concepts. I Did use the wooden building blocks from the 70's to make my own Hazard County back then.

Matchbox sets are also better made these days. Of all the things my folks kept in their garage for decades I wish they'd kept those cars.
