I really hope if we get Jabari he performs at a high level as much as Clutch wants him. Tbh he's got a high probability of being a Walmart version of Rashard Lewis. Hope I'm wrong, we shall see.

Issue here is that KPJ would have to pass him the ball.

I honestly don’t think u can go wrong with any of the top 3 bigs, and it’s clear the Rockets have to take one of those 3.

the rockets must draft a big and can’t draft a bad defensive big, as we are last in rebounds, last in defense, and one of the shortest teams in the league. Chet and Jabari come into the league as good defenders; Chet being special. And while Paolo’s defense is not good, there’s no reason to think he couldn’t develop a good defensive game.

the player who fills the biggest need for the Rockets, and has the highest upside, is probably Chet. He can play the 4, he’s an elite defender and rebounder, and he can shoot. I think next best for Houston is Jabari, and Banchero being the 3rd best option. Let’s face it, if you have to “settle” for Banchero you are doing pretty well.

As the Rox magic # is 1 to firm a Top 3 bottom finish we just may find out. My eagle scouting eye is soured on the Dukie. I’m leaning toward Smith.

I wonder just how ‘happy’ this Net’s pick will ultimately make us. Combined with one of the vets for a Top 10er? Or a real player?

Saw a stat recently where he is getting more than 30%, of his shots at the rim BLOCKED.

That is a big part of why his shot chart looks the way it does and HUGE RED FLAG. If he struggles to finish at the rim in the NCAA what makes us think he can do it in the NBA?

Chet ended up blocking Duren all the way down to the mid-late lottery.

Even if we don't get Chet, he still might help us via us getting Duren at #12.

Best rim protector in draft is Kessler, averages almost 5 blocks a game.

No other player comes even close, even Chet is under 3.

    Maybe not even that.

I like Nzosa too. Roddy as well.

Hardy interest is intriguing because he was projected to be top 10 pick before he bombed in G League.

But why are Rockets so fascinated with combo guards?

I do understand if you prefer Kessler over Williams. I’ve gone back and forth all season. Walker is one of the best shot blockers I’ve ever seen. Lots of people are split on who they think is the superior prospect.

I personally just like Mark Williams’s measurables and feel like the things he does will better translate to the NBA style of play. His wingspan and standing reach are freaky. He looks like a better athlete to me as well. He’s not the shot blocker Walker Kessler is, but I think he’s a more versatile defender and can move his feet better on switches with perimeter players although Kessler’s feet and recovery are much better than I thought when I went back and looked at film. He gets beat, but recovers and blocks everything. I also think Williams is a better lob threat and finisher around the basket.

After the final 4 performances I was very impressed with Banchero’s combination of quickness and power on several moves, as well as Agbaji’s shooting and defense on the big stage.

That wouldn’t be a bad draft ending up with those two.

well he is 6 10 and at least average athletic so there is hope that he can improve in that area. Jalen was blocked a lot most of the season, he figured it out (and is still figuring it out).

The thing about him is: he is plug an
play. He can contribute as a spacer and 3pt shooter that defends quicker bigs day one while working on his handles and finishing skills.

Every prospect this year has holes in their games. I am leaning Jabari but if we get any of the top 3 gigs I am happy.

    Chet averaged 3.7 BPG?

Kessler looks like if you took Jusuf Nurkic's body and apply much better defensive instincts. IDK where he gets drafted but he could be a decent pick depending on where the Nets pick lands.

Just catching up on this thread and I'll note that Tom Chambers was 6'10" and had a decent vertical.

Dang, @rimrocker ... That's a pretty good comp. That's the first I've seen that one.
