I'm curious what you guys think of Dyson Daniels. Ever since a report came out that he's grown to 6'7, I've been trying to read or watch as much content on him as possible. I am drawn to players that have one or more elite skills as opposed to guys who are pretty good at a lot of things. Daniels seems to be unselfish, good passer, terrific floater on drives and possibly outstanding defender, especially given his size. The problem is his outside shot hasn't been great -- just over 25% with the G-League Ignite. That's usually a killer for me but he's not unwilling, like Ben Simmons, nor is his form horrendous. I think it could develop. He's an interesting fit with Jalen Green, in my opinion.
He's awesome. I don't think there is a chance he falls to the Brooklyn pick. I see him as this year's Josh Giddey, sneaking into a pick much higher than expected.
Looks a little Lamelo ish, not as fluid, interesting prospect will do a deeper dive. Looks a little stiff and robotic.
I will say scouting reports and videos make him look very interesting for Brooklyn pick. Personally, I think he would be type of player I would try to get if the Rockets got Ivey. If Rockets get one of the big men, I hope they try hard to move up a few spots for a big wing instead.
Dyson Daniels is a PG at the NBA level. For me, there is a slight concern over his athleticism and frame. But his vision is unteachable - a player who sees the floor and has his level of passing skill at 6'7 is a rare commodity. Like his countryman Giddey, the main thing holding him back from potential stardom is the ability to take over as a scorer. But, like Giddey, the skills are there, and the mentality could be encouraged?
Dyson Daniels to me is a top 10 talent, his shooting %s arent there but as we have seen with Lamelo and Giddey if you are a big guard and you have the right attitude your shot will come around. If he is available or can be had by trading up the Rox should get him, he is the ideal backcourt mate for Green a defensive pg who can facilitate and score off the ball.
Kid is so intriguing. If Rockets take Chet first - either Keegan, Tari or Dyson would be ideal. If Rockets take Jabari first - likely drafting a legit rim protector with Nets pick.
Rox should still go for Keegan, Tari or Dyson no matter who they draft first imo. They need some sort of playmaker and a perimeter defender for this team cuz Gary Bird and Tste shouldnt be starting.
I agree, I'm all for adding as many long 2 way players as possible. But I'm trying to anticipate this FO. My greatest fear is that FO will ignore elite defenders altogether in this draft for the flashier offensive players.
I like him ... At the very least , he'll add versatile depth for a few years while he develops .... P.S. yall be on yall best behavior when Clutch posts... lol
I’ve been on The Dyson bandwagon for a minute now. Grabbing Chet or Jabari + Daniels would be my dream draft.
If he develops an outside shot or even a league-average one he can be an excellent sleeper pick if he drops. Or his lack of shooting might make him unplayable in a playoff series years down the road. He's not the best athlete but it seems he's aware of that, but has physically grown and improved there, he also is pretty skilled at his age and knows his limitations. Having a good floater is such a slept on move, his basketball IQ seems solid. I would need more info about him for the mental aspect of his potential, which is significant at the NBA level. Want a star and sleeper big this draft, but depending on who's available I would take a flyer on him if the pick wasn't too high or he was BPA.
