FYI : JVG said that he loves Steve, Cat, and Cato, but that if they're put in a position to acquire a great player, they have to go do it. Outside of that... nothing much.
Nothing really to say, not really worthy of a thread Said he saw Luis some and he's a tough competitor. JVG has little to do in drafting players. Loves Mobes, SF, Cato but would be foolish not to go after a star player. Beltran to the Astros
He didn't say much. But he did look dead tired. He tried to say nice things about SF, Mobes, and Cato. But he isn't saying much about the trade. He did mention about the Beltran trade.
JVG said he was a tough competitor. JVG also said that he had little to do with who they drafted and was more interested in the new player the Astros picked up today.
Luis Stats 6'2" or 1" and scores 24ppg at Manhatten....anyone else want to bet he is in the NBDL before November? DD
One note: When a person is lying, they tend to look down and to the left while speaking. JVG looked as if he was staring at his left knee cap while complimenting Stevie and co.
I was wishing I had TMac's eyes earlier tonight when I was trying to follow the draft, the GARM, the Astros game when the big news struck, and then the Astros BBS about the trade, then Fox Southwest, ESPN NEWS, and NBA TV all at the same time.
DraftCity reports that he can shoot lights out but can't pass very well and can't defend because of his size (Chicago measurement: 6-0.5). Why did we pass up Blake Stepp for this guy (except that Luis is a New Yorker)? Anyway, I agree. It was a wasted pick.
It's the 55th pick, if Boki can't get any play time I doubt this guy will. He'll be another Tito Maddox
