Poor Kenny! That seriously sucks. I've been bit in the face by a dog before...it's no laughing matter. It probably embarrasses the heck out of him too.

Aw man, that is terrible. [IMG]

The media's Eddie Griffin NBA Draft player profile before he landed in the Rockets hands:

What he does: He was second in the nation in blocked shots and fifth in rebounds as a freshman last season; has good shooting range and even had a triple-double.
    Reminds people of: Antawn Jamison
What he would do for his team: He could play either forward spot and runs the floor. He'll give his team a valuble inside scoring threat.

The media's review of the Rocket's draft after they got Eddie Griffin:

I'd give their draft a B. Sure, Griffin was highly touted but his behavior and attitude can be a chemistry wrecker. Needs to bulk up more. Not exactly NBA-ready. Not the best choice for Houston.

It's very sad. The "wonderfully talented prospect" one second, but the moment the media learns he'll be a Houston Rocket, it's criticize-o-rama.

Any particular reason they put the dog to sleep, besides him biting Kenny? That seems cruel just for biting a person. I've been bitten by animals before, but I didn't feel any urge to put them to sleep...

How terrible. Everybody loses. I wonder if the dog would have been put to sleep if it hadn't bitten an NBA player in the face.

Not to kill the dog, at least not the way I see things... he didn't do anything that bad to KT. He may not be a human, but he still deserves some respect...

    Cat,

Dogs have been killed for less, and injuring a person to the point of them requiring plastic surgery warrants them being put to sleep IMO.

Also, I assume that Boylen agreed to putting the dog to sleep.

    The Cat,

if the attack was bad, the dog deserves to be put to sleep. I admit, I'm not an animal-rights activist, but I have been attacked by a dog 12 years ago, and that damn english sheepdog lived on. I mean, I was attacked bad.

Come on. If a dog bites your hand, the dog should be put outside and given a hearty, "NO!"

But KT going in for plastic surgery? It's time for the dog to go. He could do it again to someone even more vulnerable than Kenny.

    Tacoma,

I am aware of that, but I still don't think it makes it right. Dogs have natural instincts, and he made a mistake. Unless the dog has rabies or something, it hurts to see them killed for actions such as this. Hopefully KT will get better soon.

    Finals,

There is medication for such aggression, if it is considered a long-term problem. And, if you are afraid of using medication, you can at least keep it confined and just not take it on trips such as the one today. I just can't justify killing it...

DAMN

    Plastic Surgery????

    That is terrible!!!

I thought he was just gonna have some stitches or something like that.

That is quite a setback... from about to work on your game in the summer league to spending time getting plastic surgery.

Cat does have a good point, even though he doesnt know it. Dogs bite. That is what they do. They need to be taught NOT to bite. Why is nobody putting blame on Boylen. First, bringing your dog to the airport for no apparent reason. Then not being able to control him. r****ded.

I wonder what the situtation was, if KT was in the dogs face trying to pet it then the dog shouldnt be put to sleep. I seriously hope the dog doesnt get put to sleep, I think I prefer dogs to humans. Screw KT, poor dog. And poor Jim who will lose a dog and have to face KT on the court for who knows how long. Someone start savejimsdog.com and keep it alive.

Good point JayZ. I was wondering why the dog wasn't caged to begin with.

I'd also like to know what type of dog it was.

    JayZ,

As you said dogs do bite, and it is a habit for dogs that is very difficult to contain. If Boylen is very attached to his dog, you cannot blame him for taking him to the airport, and I doubt Boylen would be bringing him if he thought the dog posed a serious risk. It was a sad accident that just happened, and the dog should not be killed for such circumstances IMO.
