It's quite ironic, but most people who criticize Francis, calling him an overhyped, streetball thug, marketing gimmick are the same people caught up in the hype surrounding T-Mac and Yao Ming--2 good, but overrated players marketed shrewdly by the NBA and companies like Nike and Reebok. I am saddened and disappointed of Alexander and Dawson's decision to part ways with the star guard. I am also disappointed in the individuals who have displayed a very uncivil and inappropiate sentiment towards Steve Francis. Of course some fans simply believe T-Mac is the answer in Houston--that's fine. But the crass display of disrespect and hatred is very disturbing and quite sinply ridiculous. I remember the issue of fan loyalty. Many of the people who love T-Mac say well, it's all a business--there aint no thing as loyalty in this business. It's all business they would say. It's all for the good of the team or the good of the player. But when Francis makes a business move and wants to stay in Houston for himself--a move he makes for HIMSELF--people say he's selfish and stupid and spoiled. What would you do if you were Francis? Would you do everything some slick haired idiot agent tells you? Would you do anything your GM or owner tells you? You are an individual and yes there are rules but you also have some control over your destiny and that's the beauty of it. The trade makes no sense at all, costing the Rockets a bit of change in Lue, Howard, and Mac's contracts. Why not go for Jamison or Walker? Why not get a 3 or 4 who can denfend? What about shooters and runners? Yao Ming showed us how much desire he has by getting dominated by Shaq and the Lakers. He is easily intimidated and settles for Jumpshots frequently. Is this the guy everyone says is great? He has a lot to learn about desire if he wants to win in this league. And the Rockets will continue to lose even with this "messiah" T-Mac. And what about this guy? A guy who foolishly predicted victory ina series before it was over? A player who does not make his teammates better and involved in the game? Sure he can score 40-50, but what about desire and wanting to do everything it takes to win. ANd now they want to bring in an $8-9 mill guy in Howard to teach Yao about desire?? JUWAN HOWARD??? What about sacrificing your body, exhorting your teammates and commanding the floor? Oh yeah, Steve Francis did that!! If T-Mac joins the Rockets, the Rockets have lost a fan. With the exception of Lue, this may be the team with the least desire and emotion in the NBA!
The Rockets may have lost a fan, but they probably gained thousands of others if TMac comes on board. Sorry.
The man has right to his opinion and a valid point (pooper) It's true Yao hasn't shown that heart we have come to expect from Rocket players(buzzkill) and T-Mac while showy isn't a 'team' guy (killjoy). So let's let the man say what he has to say (ignore).
You don't even know what you're talking about...Yao got dominated by Shaq?? What games are you watching ...which era are you still in??? Yao was head and toe with Shaq last season. And YES Francis DO SUCK...he is overrated. The reason he got in All-Star is cuz the fans vote for him...but he doesn't deserve it...he is a turnover prone player...can't make intelligent pass or play...he's not a spot up shooter...he has no fundamental in his game whatsoever....therefore he sucks!! And he does not fit into the JVG system which involve fundamental which is the reason why he and Mobley is out of here because they both don't play fundamental basketball...more like streetball...which Rudy T allow them and which is why they love Rudy. But without fundamental ....you're not going to win a lot of games i guranteed you that.
tbui, If Tmac joins the Roxs, you should at least give him and Yao a chance to see what they can do together instead of jumping the gun so fast! Speaking of fast, if you stay, you may see something real special real fast real soon!!!
HOLY CRAP! HAHAHAHA! Instead of the girl, you can picture the Rockets ass there. And the Magic is sticking it to us.
