I just ordered one of these:

    https://www.walkolution.com/

But from having been using https://www.sport-tiedje.de/en/darwin-treadmill-walking-pad-df-wp for a while now, I know that with the smart watches, your steps don't really get counted if you type at the same time or don't swing your arm while walking.

So I have been looking for a good way to attach a step tracker to one's ankle.

Any recommendations which combination of fitness tracker/band would work best for that?

    https://weartotrack.com/fitness-tracker-ankle/

Their first recommendation doesn't even count steps.

I guess it would just be the third one plus maybe a Fitbit tracker (which one?).

I'm surprised that none of the companies seems to be offering a dedicated ankle fitness tracker for this use case?

Apple watch or Fitbit isn't good enough? Those track steps.

I seem to remember the Misfit Ray was for ankles and you could wear two. I think that company went under but you may be able to find them and use them still.

You can also get generic ankle bands for fitbits/misfits like this one

Problem with that is that if you don't swing your arms, they don't really count the steps, I think, at least not accurately. And if I use the treadmill for walking in front of the standing desk and am typing away on Clutchfans or for work at the same time while walking, my arms won't be swinging (even though I might be taking a few swings in the D&D ;)).

BT Justice is a very underquoted character. We need to work on that.

What does step count do for you?
I am all about measuring but I have a step counter on my watch
but I take it as kind of a recommendation/suggestion

It's a strange psychological thing for me (probably not only me), I have noticed that if something isn't measured/tracked, it's easier for me to ignore it or pretend all is fine.

I only started doing something about my nutrition after I had the Abbott Freestyle Libre in my arm, where I could see the glucose values "live", and then I easily lost 30 lbs within weeks.

So if I know the steps are counted properly, I have a goal I can go for.

    yea
My Libre is definitely a motivator.
My Eating has changed over the last few weeks
Previously I had the Libre and used it as a TAKE MEDICINE NOW measure
Now I feel more confident in NOT EATING
Use to take every little twinge as an indictor I was running low

Congrats on the 30 LBs . .. . within weekS!!!
I am 10 down and its been about 4 weeks I'd say
    (3~4)

I would LOVE to lose 10 lbs a month
    but
I have to change the diet (which is the next stage)

I'm not diabetic, but my values were slipping into pre-diabetic range. That's why I started watching it.

So I bought a Fitbit Charge 4 for treadmill step tracking now (don't need the 5 for the ECG, I already have the newest Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy Watch (this one does blood pressure, but needs to be re-calibrated quite often), Withings watch...the only one I wear is the Withings watch because it doesn't actually look like a smartwatch).

Also bought a simple ankle band. Will report back if that works (in a couple of months when I will have received my Walkolution treadmill).
