You're not getting what I am saying. There's 1,000 combinations. Each team gets assigned a certain number of combinations based on their record. But if you tie, the combinations are split evenly between the two teams - if there is an odd ball, they flip a coin to see who gets the odd combination. That flip also determine who picks first if they neither win the lottery. So yes, they get one extra combination for the flip. Why is this so hard to understand???
Anyway for god's sake, can we shut this team down now and play the guys who never get minutes so we can develop them and protect our lottery position? How stupid is Stone here?
I am not sure he is stupid but rather overly confident of himself. I am also not hanging my hat on Chet or Jabari being messiahs..... folks get crazy around this time. I think in the spirit of the game, the coach at least has to field half of his best players for looking the parts so I wouldn't be comfortable with Garuba but Christopher and Nix would be fine though. You also cannot tell players to mail it in as this is detrimental to sports. That said, please consider letting go of Silas just for the sakes of the future.
This has nothing to do with Chet or Jabari who will both get picked in the top 4. This is about getting the 5th pick vs the 7th or 8th.
If we don’t get a top 4 pick this entire season is a waste. The vets need to be benched and we need this last 9 games to evaluate and grow guys like Jaygup, Sengun, Garuba, Nix, etc. It’s not just to tank you know what you have in Gordon, Schroder, Wood, etc it’s pointless to play them.
Maybe the Rockets brass has decided they are happy with Murray or Griffin over Banchero or Sharpe, or Duren
The Rockets can't depend on or expect the Magic, Pistons, and Thunder to win games. Just play it safe and lose out. Secure a top 5 pick.
We tend to give way too much credit, overrate people like Stone. Stone seems like a snob who lives a fancy life with his fancy wife but does not care about the devil in the details. He is a good contract lawyer but only a mediocre GM. Only the best in business do tend to those DETAILS! Or another explanation would be he is so good that he is fooling fans and himself left and right.
