As I've said it's not funny to produce a meme from a murder trial you were in and I drive a gas guzzler so that point is moot. On another note, what do you think about Tucker Carlson being broadcasted of Russian state TV? I guess that'll end this conversation...
I feel like this kid is going to grow up to have 'child star face'. You know, his body will be a run down middle-aged man but his face won't change, somehow. Except maybe dark rings under his eyes from alcoholism.
Is this little Pudgy hero gone to the Ukraine yet to stand up against a real enemy one that doesn't swing a skateboard? DD
Public figures and especially news editorializing with rushed opinions is cancer, junk food for the eyes, and an enema of public opinion all rolled into one. I'd have mixed feelings if he won an expensive settlement from news outlets as I think "respectable news" imitating rubes on social media is another accelerant to our society Literally flushing itself down the toilet.
If he were smart, Rittenhouse would sue in the UK, not in the United States. Their libel laws are far more favorable to the plaintiffs and I believe all the alleged defamation was published there. The real likelihood of Rittenhouse collecting doesn't depend on whether he can prevail at trial though, but rather whether or not he can collect a settlement (see Nick Sandman), edit: which was mentioned in the video.
I am curious about this. How would Rittenhouse go about establishing standing in UK courts to sue US new services? Or would he be able to just sue the BBC and other UK new services?
I'm no expert on UK jurisdiction laws, but I would think the fact that the shows are available there via satellite or Internet could be sufficient.
If that's how you establish standing then couldn't Rittenhouse, or anyone else who feels they've been defamed, sue in any venue? Could Rittenhouse then use Russian courts to sue since, at least until a few weeks ago, those shows were available in Russia via Internet?
I know less about Russian law than I do UK law. Doing some research, the UK has passed some recent legislation to curtail libel tourism. I think it is possible he could have filed there earlier, but it would no longer seem to be an option. I have no idea what foreign access to Russian courts is like.
Did he shoot that dude's brother in Austin when he was jogging in the middle of the day? in a car, because it was drive by shooting there's got to be footage, everyone in Travis Heights or South Austin has Ring cameras.
