Can definitely recommend Jeff Lemire's run on the comic.

My hope is that most of the general audience don't go into this show expecting the same MCU formulaic, superhero story because Moon Knight is hardly anything like Spider-Man or Ironman or Thor. Once they get past that shock I think they'll appreciate the storyline more.

I liked the first season of legion but didn't invest in the second when i heard nothing but thumbs down from others. I wouldn't mind a psychological thriller like season 1 Jessica Jones, but hopefully they keep it tight rather than wasting a few episodes (pre-climax cliffhanger "binge burners") where main character becomes too OP he lobotomizes himself in dreamworld where nothing doesn't really matter until the show resolves what's real or fake (mr robot)

You can tell what works and whats gimmicky by asking yourself if you want to rewatch the series ( not to "get it" and pretend you got it the first time in front of others) because you enjoyed the details leading up to the end.

The hyperbole in the Marvel pre-reviews is always a bit much.

Imagine you're going to make some movies with the excellent acting of Oscar Isaac as a main protagonist and Adam Driver as the main antagonist and you screw it up.

Really excited to watch this one. You get the feeling that with bringing in Oscar Isaacs, who is maybe the most sought after 30 something less man, in for this character they must have big plans for the character moving forward.

No way they aren’t planning to have him play off of other big actors in the marvel comedy style sense. If there’s a way to have him alongside Hulk that’d be amazing.

I really liked it. Went into it with more or less no expectations. Chase scene was funny.

I thought it was fantastic. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the series.

I will say I have one gripe about the show and recent MCU fare in general:
The CGI in recent MCU movies and shows is terrible. They really need to use more practical effects and give creatures more gravity/weight. The Eternals was probably the worst with the Deviants, but the Jackal things in this first episode of MK were bad and the creatures in Shang-Chi were pretty hokey.

Anyway, this is a good breakdown:
