Check out the first link you posted (Berman on the 21st I think), Steve says (at around the 30 sec mark) "The only way I think that I'll play for Orlando, if Shaq plays for Orlando, I think I will." Besides the interesting sentence construction there, he seems to be saying that the only way he plays for Orlando is if it is with Shaq.

No. It's Magic GM who demanded to know if Tmac would stay when he has the opt out next season. Tmac baiscly said no, trade me while you can. And he didn't running his mouth around to impede the trade in public, he let his GM do his work.

The magic can, if they choose to, not trade Tmac now and see what he does after next season.

such sutblty makes big difference in life, but I guess not everyone can see it.

 

I LOVE the Rockets and would be sad to see Steve, cat and cato go but I just hate listening to Idiots bash steve and clown him as he is on his way out. Just like T-Mac is looking out for HIMself, Steve is doing the same. I hope Steve ends up elsewhere (Portland or Orlando w/ Okafor) and ****s on all you HATERS faces cause he doesn't deserve the treatment that he has received the past year and half or so. The guy isn't perfect but neither is T-Mac. He is hurt for being shipped out b/c he felt they were building something here and wants to be a part of the organization. That must hurt alot, I am sure he feels betrayed. If he gets traded, let the guy go with respect and not diss him b/c he played his ass off for the team for the past 5 years.

In a league where people DEMAND trades nowadays to sacrifice winning for More MONEY and/or More SHOTS... Steve is doing the exact opposite, and you gotta LOVE him for that.

If he went to Orlando, he'd go back to his "pre-yao" self... leading the Magic in just about every statistical category, even rebounds! But he's giving up all of this statistical hype to simply WIN!

As much as I love T-Mac, and how I believe he's the most talented player in the league right now... I'm hoping Steve stays!!!!! His determination to want to win & play for houston is FAR more important to me!

 

You mean he did all these for Rockets, not for himself? Or he took less money by staying? You are unbelievable.

 

I don't really see how people can say Steve is doing a selfish act... because quite honestly, I don't see it.

By statying in Houston, will he make more money? NO!
By statying in Houston, will he get more shots? NO!
By statying in Houston, will he get better stats? NO!
By statying in Houston, will he be the main guy? NO!

By statying in Houston, will he get more wins? YES! And quite frankly, that's what you want from a player... who's willing to sacrifice to win!

Why don't most of you put yourself in his shoes... One day you're playing for a team on the rise that just made the playoffs... the next day, someone FORCES you to play for a team on the bottom of the league thousands of miles away... it's hard to believe that you wouldn't like it & say something about it.

 

No one is FORCING him to go to Orlando. He can walk away and join up with the AND1 team be the best AND1 player around.

 

I think I hate FORENZI more than Karla.

I will say it again; if Francis screws up this trade he will become the most hated player in Rocket's history surpassing Scottie Pippen. The Rockets are betting the farm on this one, and they should have anticipated Francis' reaction. Again, Rocket's management has mishandled a golden opportunity. If the trade collapses the Rockets will be in shambles and besides Francis, they will have no one to blame but themselves.
