Lets say the trade goes down as expected. We receive T-Mac, Howard, and Lue or Gaines. Now here's the interesting part....

How bout dealing Howard, the Trade Exception and possible #1 for Elton Brand. If that works we would have a killer lineup that could compete with the big boys for the championship in 04-05 and beyond. I have not run this thru real GM so I don't know if it's possible.

What do you guys think about that? :D

Why would the Clippers trade their best player for Howard (and his huge contract) and a future #1 that, with that lineup, won't be close to the lottery picks anytime in the next 10 years? Don Baylor isn't THAT stupid.

The Clippers are dumb, but not dumb enough to trade away a top notch PF for Howard and our 1st round pick (which would be mid-late 1st round).

Im in no rush to win a title next year. I just want to see improvement over last year. With McGrady being only 25 and Yao only 23, well have plenty of time to put pieces together over the next few years and gel as a team.

Even with the trade I don't see us getting past the second round this year. Two or three years is what I think it will take to be serious championship contenders. With the way this summer is going it is hard to say who the top four teams in the west are.

After that, we can trade Mike Wilks and the Trade Exception for LeBron James. Then we can sign Kobe with the MLE.

    James
    Bryant
    McGrady
    Garnett
    Yao

Hey that is a pretty good idea.

That trade is about as feasible as JVG becoming a championship-caliber coach.

I suspect that deal must involve a bit of shoveling ;)

Do you have any black slaves working there? That may sweeten the pot.

I have been playing NBA live in franchise mode, but I am so lazy that I let the XBOX do all of the offseason moves. I am in my 4th year and my lineup is:

    Yao
    R. Wallace
    Garnett
    McGrady
    Francis

Needless to say, I have gone undefeated in the regular season and the playoffs 3 years running (yes, I play on Superstar).
