and francis would want to go to washington more than orlando? i know he is from the area but i feel they would be even worse off than the magic.
Washington gets killed in that deal anyway. I don't care if Francis is a hometown hero, no way they give up Arenas and Kwame to get him. Take out Kwame though, and I could see it going down.
Uh, the Magic GM is saying that is currentely what is being discussed with WAS for Stevie. They have publically stated 4 deals for Steve so far in the press: 1) CHI - Stevie for Chandler, Hinrich and Jerome Williams 2) PHO - Marion and the #7 (pick is gone now, so that's gone) 3) WAS - Arenas and Brown 4) SEA - Stevie for Allen Then, they've mentioned sending Gooden and Cat to MIA for Caron Butler... They are getting good offers for our players. I think the main one they want to hang onto is Cato. A good defensive, rebounding center is hard to find in the East. We'll know a lot regarding their intentions depending on who they pick. If they think they'll have Cato, then they'll probably pick Howard. If they pick Okafor, then it might mean they are going a different direction, or don't know which direction they are going in.
Of those deals, only #1 and #4 are remotely realistic. Francis is practically equal to Marion so any Marion + a draft pick for Francis will never happen. And Arenas is really a younger version of Francis (only 21 compared to Francis 27). I doubt the Wizards will trade him for Francis straight up, let alone packaged with Brown who is still young and looks ready to bust out.
