Cause of the No trade clause.
Either we accept Watson term or just sit him and get nothing.

Browns could turn around and trade baker for multiple first round picks or players. Browns have way more talent than the teams you mentioned. They just needed a qb.

yes, it was dumb. You walk away. Dumb.

I’d love to see what Watson would do if Caserio just said no. Sit out another year, this time with no pay? No.

Because they wanted to trade him just as much as Desahun wanted to leave. They could've forced Deshaun to play under the threat of fines, but they didn't want him around to influence the locker room and turn people against Easterby. All the moves the Texans have been making have been to protect Easterby.

Because they gave him a no trade clause. They're stuck. The mistake was giving him that clause. Trading a guy with a no trade clause, who says he'll never play a down for your team again, while simultaneously has 22 sexual assault claims pending against him isn't exactly a situation ripe with leverage.

They weren't going to bring him back...and no team in this situation would either. The negotiated with the teams he said he'd go to. Worked out deals with them..then Watson chose where he wanted. Three first rounders is historically good....but getting that in this situation is about as good as you can ask for.

I was so terrified man when I saw the alert on my phone...I thought...feared...we'd be getting Baker back.

I know a mentally ruined QB when I see one...glad we won't be taking him on.

Browns don’t have as much talent as those other teams. Specially the top teams.
They have no receivers, no Tight ends. Strong running game and solid defense.
They aren’t more talented than Bills, Bengals, Chargers, Chiefs, Titans.
    Maybe around Broncos, Vegas level

What? What kind of nonsense is this.
They literally won one playoff game with Watson and were then boat raced by Chiefs.
No where were they even close to being a contender

That was a coaching problem more than a Watson problem.

Any competent coach would have hold 24 point lead. We blew that In a quarter thanks to BoB.

Between the serial sexual assaults, use of no trade clause to refuse to play almost immediately after signing and force a trade to team of choice, and changing his base salary so his suspension will be meaningless, it's hard to think of a more loathsome snake in pro sports than Watson.

    No Denzel Ward
    No Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah
    No Greedy Williams
    No Grant Delpit
    No Jedrick Wills
    No Nick Chubb
    No Donovan Peoples-Jones
    No Greg Newsome
No Baker Mayfield to flip (they’re probably gonna get a 2nd or 3rd?)
Not even Houston legend Case Keenum!

I’d like to file sexual assault charges against the Cleveland Browns for what they just did to the Texans!
    They Deshaun’d the Texans!

Sounds a lot like excuses. An elite QB isn’t going to go 41 unanswered.

Why did the Texans let Deshaun talk with the Browns without getting assurance of 3 first round pick and 2 additional high value pieces as stated. I do not consider a late round pick swap and a 5th rounder has high value. The other 3 teams had better offers. Texans did not need to give him permission to talk with the Browns.

I guess you don't remember that they traded for Amari Cooper this off season to go with Jarvis Landry. They have an elite oline and run game.

One of the best DE in the league.
