His little gambles annoy me at times. Just do the simple pass man no need to get cute. Want him to cut that out and have some sort of regimen in the offseason where if he fouls in practice he can't talk to his first translator for a week.

I agree with the OP. I've said this before the draft too.

Heck, lots of things annoy me about the rookies. At least JG had minutes to figure his major mistakes out, unlike Sengun who was given a strict minutes adherence when he should have been having lots of minutes to get his lumps out of the way early in the season. Once again, thank Silas.

I don’t know about best player. The other 3 guys have a complete game - with defense, rebounding, passing and scoring. Green will probably be the best scorer of the bunch.

now if you are talking about most valuable we might have a discussion. I believe the most valuable skill is being able to score no matter the situation or the defense. And I do believe Green will be the best player at that. Getting a guy that fills up the stat sheet is probably easier to find…

but overall this is a special draft class and you can make a case for at least 5 of the players…

He does look like a funny version of Denzel, Stephen that is.

I would wait a few years until I would come to this conclusion.
But if green is still here by then, that's a plus for us.

This was an amazing draft and a historic one for us. All 4 rookies will be part of a special team.

Green will end up closer to Kobe Bryant than Bradley Beal. Sengun will be a Jokic clone, quicker but smaller. Both of them desperately need to put on muscle.

Sengun and Garuba knocking down wide open 3’s is what’s needed to kick off the dynasty. Baby steps right now though.

Lol this is an extremely optimistic post. We will see where Green ends up, he does not have Phil Jackson or anyone close to that to guide him so he may very well end up in the Bradley Beal tier. From a work ethic standpoint, there really are not any players in the Kobe tier. Garuba seems like a miss, he is not even on this active roster anymore. I think Sengun can reach Jokic level impact.

Silas did his job showcasing wood. Stone flopped by not dumping him at the deadline.

We'll see if he wins dumping fun during the off-season but it's more of the same...

At this point the needs to keep showcasing Wood because it would be just like the Rockets to screw up draft positioning in the last few games of the season.

There is no chance, Green is going to be a net positive defensively in the playoffs, Beal is not. That's what makes Green more Kobe like than Iverson or Beal types. Of course clutchness as well, we haven't been in a truly big game yet but it's obvious Green has it, ignore it at your own risk.

Bradley Beal is in the tier of players who has to score 35 to have top 20 impact on the floor plus he takes a ton of stupid shots while Green has a good TS% as a rookie.

Green is an exceptionally hard worker by all accounts. The stories that are coming in in his rookie season are more vociferous than they were in Kobe's career before he started making advertisements about it. Beal I have no idea if that's true about, but his attitude about making money over winning is garbage, we will never have that problem with Jalen.

One of these things is not like the other bro. There's just some things you can't teach, and Jalen has them.

Also, I'm not a huge Kobe fan, I don't think he's a top 2 SG all time or a top 15 player all time. An incredible player, championship winner, deadly in the playoffs. Would take him on my team any day. But it's not like I'm saying Jalen is going to be MJ (yet).

Just seeing the highlight reel of Beal rookie season, It's obvious that Green is just flat out more offensively gifted. He's just another tier of athlete. Green's highlight package for his rookie season would be mistaken for a current superstar. He's just more electric than someone like Beal.

Exactly. Green oozes star quality on and off the court honestly. When people say stats aren't everything, that's what they're talking about. Not some random eye test that would have put Green on the bench mid season haha.

Forget about anything else, his athleticism is probably the most electric I've ever seen, period. It's not just his vertical leap, but also his fluidity and his speed, his burst and his quickness. It's fascinating just watching the kid move. Out of all the NBA players--who are practically a different species than us regular folk--I think Jalen Green is probably one of the most gifted athletes ever.

Will he ever be able to harness his physical gifts and become a superstar? Not for me to say, but I'm having a great time watching him right now and his rate of improvement is astonishing.
