The Rockets are getting Larry Brown! The Rockets are getting Larry Brown!
Only to have him bail out and go on to coach the Pistons to a World Championship.

Lets hope history doesnt repeat itself a year later.

Don't worry about it. This is all part of David Stern's masterplan to boost ratings for the NBA draft tomorrow night. Build up the story all week, and let it reach it's climax, live on TNT . Everytime he steps to the podium and says, "We have a trade to announce"... everyone will be on the edge of their seats.

    ;)

David Stern: We have a trade. The Houston Rockets trade Clearance Weatherspoon for Dan Langhi of the Phoenix Suns.

    *crowd cheers*

I think that is NOT accurate that LB bailed out on the Rox. According to an article in the Chron later that he wanted the job but he didn't hear anything for a week from the Rox management after the interview. Then the Pistons fired Carlisle and called him, after a 15min call, he signed on.

He is a huge Yao fan, starting way back in the 2000 Olympics. He said back then sth like "in four years Yao will change the way basketball is played."

I know for a fact that what you are saying is not true because it was only 2 days after his interview here that Carlisle was fired and Brown was hired.

He hadn't hear anything from Rox management because they still had Paul Silas to interview that Friday. Thats the same day that the Brown/Carlisle fiasco happened.

Don't fret. LB will be back on the market in a year, two tops.

All I'm saying is it looks like the Rockets let hte "Big Splash!" slip away last year, and they were/are damn close to making the same mistake again this year.

He's correct, LB made the decision while Silas was waiting to be interviewed. Nice memory!

I could care less if LB becomes available again.
