Legacy of bigs...with chronic debilitating lower extremity injuries.

Yup, we're saying the same thing. Yao had trouble with the athleticism (i.e. quickness to drive or shoot a quick jump shot) more than the strength. The other players just had to be strong enough to not let Yao get every rebound. Nobody could stop Yao in the post regardless of strength.

Man if we get Chet, I'm willing to tip jar bet that we'll be a playoff team... Only obstacle if to get a PG ( whether starter or 20-25 mpg backup if they still experimenting with KPJ) to stabilize the offensive flow when he comes in... Then I think we can be a fringe contender .. Even with Wood here

No, Holmgren is not viewed as a generational talent by the majority of scouts.

He is viewed as a top of the draft type prospect that has the upside of being great but also has risk.

To me he is worth the risk most likely, because he offers the type of upside that can alter a franchise.

Im not locked in, it is possible Smith or even Ivey could end up as the player I value the highest in this draft.

For me Banchero and Griffin and Murray and Davis and Duren are the best options after the top 3.

This draft is not quite as strong in the top 3-5 like last year, but the top 8-9 are pretty solid.

Holmgren moves far better than Yao Ming did. Holmgren moves well laterally and gets up the court very well. There really isn’t a comparison between Yao and Chet other than both of them are really tall.

He moves far better than Gobert, he can defend on the perimeter and won’t need to be taken out against smaller line ups.

Is he as explosive as the guy that won two MVP’s? No, but who is? Almost all the player that are explosive enough are not long enough. Chet will also give Giannis issues with his length and his recovery speed.

The lack of strength Chet has is a concern, but he has shown the ability to bang with players far stronger than him. He also seems to have a strong core.

Chet has that type of upside.

He is an exceptional outside shooter.

He is very good in transition.

He has shown the ability to put the ball on the floor and create for himself.

He has the makings of a good handle.

He finishes very well inside and cuts to the basket.

So the upside on offense is very high.

Defensively he has the upside of being the best defender in the league if he adjusts well.

He's worth the risk, and it's a risk.

everything is a risk. tanking for the top pick is a risk when the worst record only has a 52% chance of staying in the top 4! first overall picks only have about a 60% chance of ever becoming just a 1 time all star.

Jabari is really good It’s hard for me not to say he’s the surest thing at the top of the draft. Big tall great shot and athletic. To me he would be number for sure in almost any draft.

    except this one.

Chet is so fascinating I just love his game he’s so rare what he can do at his size.

    I’d be happy with either.

    Jabari is safer

but Chet has the highest upside by a mile imo.

if I’m toe rockets im picking Chet just on the fact that if he does hit, your looking at a guy who can win mvp and DPOY.

I can see Chet being a solid 20/12/5 guy with elite top end defense that can anchor a team.

he’ll fit well as a modern era center and fit well with green if green turns into a top 5 scorer in the league we hope he becomes.

Chet's frame and the fact that he runs hunched over like a 90 year old man worries me a bit on his longevity. I know the NBA has some of the best trainers in the world but you would think that he would have his little hunch taken care of by now. I guess that's part of growing into your body when you are 19 years old and 7'0 tall. Dude is still growing. He may end up being 7'2 before its all said and done. But I will say he can dribble and shoot and very much reminds of Durant with how smooth his shot is.

Best game I’ve ever seen from Chet. This is the tourney so while beating a lower seed is expected (Damn Iowa Damn Keegan wut happened) it was very impressive to see Chet dominate. Those are the types of games he needs to have all the way through the dance.

If he likes soul food and is still built like that, this may be a lost cause ...

No way you could give us two of the top 5 and we would still miss the playoffs. This team is so bad defensively.

How often do rookies come in and change a team culture defensively? Mobley has Allen there with him and with out Allen I'm pretty sure the Cavs have an awful record.

Sucks for Chet, was having an amazing season and was never hurt before the pros.
Defensive player of the year type season.

8-10 weeks plus at least another 2 to get back in basketball shape
