Sorry for the late notice but we're starting in 10 minutes a live audio discussion about the Rockets draft situation. Nathan Fogg (@foggy94) and I will be talking about prospects and bringing on fan questions/speakers.
Nice. I’ll be there! I had to go ahead and break down and get a Twitter account a couple weeks ago. Rockets Twitter is trending up with the addition of these Spaces. A few weirdos out there too causing drama though. Thinking their opinions = indisputable facts. Kinda like this place lmao. Ya’ll be safe.
Love @foggy94 and his opinion on Jaden Ivey. High upside pick with lots of potential as a future star. He has shown he can operate off the ball. He is not the primary ball handler at Purdue so he already shows ability to not dominate the ball and has tremendous gravity just running around. On the ball he is an absolute force. Also mentioned being fine with a 3 guard lineup with KPJ at the wing that I’m an advocate of. @Clutch mentioned that even early in the season when JG was struggling, people around the league were still high on his upside and potential. Said drafting Jaden Ivey would be another high upside pick and if it doesn’t work out together, it was mentioned to him that Jalen Green would be easy to trade. Wasn’t advocating that.
At work, but I'm interested to see how @Clutch feels about a scenario where Banchero is the best prospect available by the time its our pick. Do we pick him? How do you think that plays out for Banchero & Sengun long term?
Sharpe isn't just catch and shoot. He can create as well and his games show that. I don't know what highlights this dude has watched.
I think if we do take Jabari we'll for damn sure need a long player at the 3 to go with Smith and Sengun in the mold of a Siakam. If you can acquire a player like that I think a front court of Smith/Sengun/TBD would be really really good.
Good discussion. Found out late after being gone until after 1 o'clock. Discussing Sengun and who might fit with him, or vice versa. Trading Wood, Tate, and Nets pick in the teens to move up to 7th pick discussed earlier to get Griffin, who'd be great at the 3. I don't think Griffin will be there. He'll go a little sooner, IMO. The idea being Smith/Griffin out of the 2022 draft, which would be amazing, of course, if very unlikely. Some excellent comments from Roosh about Sengun. Dave is great at hosting these discussions, by the way.
