If this happens, it's great for the Ukrainian people to at least not have to worry about a missile going through their kid's window in the middle of the night. But it's the beginning of the Russian boot on their necks. They will never be completely free of Russian influence if they acquiesce to Russian demands. If this comes to pass, don't be surprised if the Ukrainian president is assassinated within a year and the most outspoken Ukrainian supporters that reside there disappear one at a time. To counter this, we absolutely need military muscle in Eastern Europe. Yeah, it's another cold war, but it's the result of Putin's ambitions.
