I don't do links very well, so I'll paraphrase the quote, and if you want to read it yourself, I'll try to add the link later, but I always screw it up... Not really anything startling, except BskBALL's report would have you believe that the Rockets' disinterest in Webber is due their inablitity to get him to meet with them, not that they've just lost interest. Also states again the Mo is telling teams who call him that he's waiting for the Rockets first and foremost. Also Shandon wants to return, but is asking around 5 mill/year, which he might not get anywhere, let alone here. Rockets are puzzled and getting a little impatient at Hakeem's unavailability. Also states that Robinson is a real possibility, and his asking price is 3 years at 10 mill/year, as rumoured. That's pretty much it, as i said, nothing earth shattering except maybe for the reverse interpretation of the Rockets/Webber thing...Ok, I'll try this link thing... http://bskball.com/Rumours.htm If by some miracle I did it right, scroll down to the Rockets blurb.See ya. ------------------
$!^%#!^#^#!! I checked my own link, and wrong again...can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? ------------------

I thought the interesting thing about that article was the Rockets supposedly being OK with Cato and Collier as their centers if they can't sign Hakeem or DRob. Does this team make the playoffs? 1 Francis, Moochie 2 Mobes, SA 3 Griffin, Walt, Bull, Langhi 4 MoTay, KT 5 Cato, Collier ------------------
No it won't be able to make the playoffs.I don't think that the Rockets are going to tell anyone what they intend to do if Hakeem or Robinson don't come here.I'm sure they will try to improve the center position before the season starts. ------------------
Let's say the Rockets use $6.5M to sign Mo, $4.5M for SA, and a $3.0M bump for Moochie. I don't know about making the playoffs, but the roster you have listed is about $2.5M under the cap. If they sign another 5 (Pig?) for a one year deal they will then be about $7.5M under when Walt comes off the books after this season. The $7.5M figure will likely increase as the '02-'03 cap rises. With a short-term contract for a third center and the impending impact of the Luxury Tax, the Rockets will be in a good postion to bargain next summer. --------------- Raef to Rocks in '01-'02! I do think that team listed above is a playoff team. Maybe adding a FA center like Marc Jackson. Last season Houston got off to a bad start and came on strong at the 2nd half but fell short b/c of the 1st half of the season. We won't be a top team in the playoffs but first lets get to the playoffs and see where we are at.... ------------------
The only flaw is that it was actually Hakeem who sparked the second half turnaround last year. BUT, the thing I like about the team above is Rudy could play "small ball" and sit the centers. 1 Francis, Mooch 2 Mobes, Francis 3 SA, Griffin, Walt 4 Griffin, KT 5 MoTay or KT Plug one of the centers in for extra fouls to give. This team may not make the playoffs, but they would be fun to watch. ------------------
If we make the playoffs, we will be a very dangerous team to play and will be a legitimate upset threat in the first round, because of the style of play we employ with the guards. ------------------ "I look kind of dumpy. Look at my butt. And what kind of shoes do they have me wearing? At least they got the chinstrap beard right." -Kevin Garnett on the KG bobblehead dolls during KG bobblehead doll night at the Target Center
A power forward that can't rebound and a center that won't rebound...yikes! but over all I still think the team is play off caliber, especially if they stay healthy and can form some good chemistry. ------------------
Am I the only that think it would be crazy to see Robinson in a Rocket uniform.... I hope some how Hakeem can get resigned and finish here
With no Dream and no other proven center or C-PF signee (like A. Davis who is mor eof a PF but plays C as well) I agree it would be a fun team. But we won't be a playoff team. We would be giving up a lot with a weak C (Cato or Collier) and a PF (Mo-T) who can shoot but dosn't rebound or block shots. We've got to find a way to sign Dream. Unless he is desperate to play for a more contending team (like Orlando for example) I say he is priority #2 right behind Mo-T.
Theres just not any centers out there. We may very well be stuck with Cato, Collier, and a third center from the CBA. Dream, IMO, has asked for way too much money considering his age and recent health woes. David Robinson would be solid gamble but I doubt his chin is raised as high as Hakeems, so he'll most likely work out a deal and stay true to his original teamates. Then theres that Mozohaamed guy, but who the hell is he? I've never heard of him in my life. He sounds like anotehr Cato to me. The best we can do is hope and pray that Cbfanclub guy is a prophet and truly knows of an untapped source ressiding within Cato. ------------------
I say we go after Mark Jackson. ------------------ I have seen much of the rest of the web. It is brutal and cruel and dark. CC.net is the light.
haha Imagine that:6'1, 6'3, 6'4, 6'6, and 6'3. ------------------ The title will come to ClutchCity once again.
