Deserving. Gladly pay Correa for $35 of a $230 dollar draft. Last man on the Astros I’d deal/let walk.

Shouldn’t be too much longer… season does start in less than a month and you’d think he’d want to get working (especially if he’s going to go all out in another potential FA year…)

Keuchel also wasn’t promoted as a 20 year old…. And he also should have taken the extension Luhnow offered him.

I hope the deal has worn off. Baseball wandered the wilderness (other than a fluke college World Series at the end for Augie) for something like 6 or 7 years (which is forever for that program). I don’t even want to think about football for the last dozen or so years. Hopefully better days ahead.

Ha. The wife is awesome. And she gave me three great kids. It’s a deal I beat the devil in marking for sure.

Texas baseball, based upon the incredibly high standard set by Texas baseball, probably had it's worst decade of its incredible history- missing the playoff altogether 4 times, while watching Augie Garrido, the best coach in NCAA history, finish the last 5 years of his career with a record that was only 158- 126. His one college world series appearance in that time was with a team that finished 5th in its conference. Those 5 years, combined with Price's first year afterwards, were probably the worst 6 year stretch in the programs history. Didn't win a conference title during that time, missed the playoffs altogether 3 times. Before that you have to go back to the 50's to find a team that missed the playoffs that often in a decade- and the playoffs back then were obviously not as robust as now.
It's an incredible program. ****- Texas isn't a football school- as good as that history is- it's a baseball school. That, along with the transition from Gus to Augie, were the toughest times in that programs history (and they weren't all that tough).
Now ends the history report on Texas baseball.

My guess is that this will be ~6-8 year offer, more substantial than previously offered obviously, with 35-40mm annual salary in the years preceding opt outs. Probably opt outs after Y1,2, or 3 depending on how long the contract is…

My gut says the longer CC remains unsigned, the better the chances are for Houston to retain him…but who knows, Bryce and Machado both signed late as well. I just think if a team we’re going to offer 10 years, it would’ve happened by now, and I hope HOU would trump shorter term offers. Looks like CC May have gotten greedy and market passed him by.

Never underestimate Boras’ ability to play teams against each other… or simply have a team competing against itself.

it’s why he’s the best… and the worst.

Get it done already. Lock up the infield core and let’s roll.

The longer this goes the less hopeful I feel...I don't care what happens with Benedict Watson as long as Correa is back...
