And the Texans would call his bluff and say we are keeping you unless we can get what we want. It’s your prime you’re wasting. It’s your reputation that you have to rebuild via football. And I doubt a new GM from the Patriots system is going to start his regime by letting a player dictate control. That’s not their way of doing things.

He just got extended, lol. Not saying he's a good fit for the Texans who are embracing the rebuild, but he's a decent QB who can make the playoff and help win big games.

But surpassing your expectations did not make you "disheartened." Looks like what you're saying is that you made a judgment of Watson pre-trial, pre-charges, and you're sticking to it, which is fine - we all have opinions. And because not enough NFL teams have agreed with your judgment of Watson as a person, and not only that, but taken that judgment and used it as the reason to not try to improve their own football success, that you're disheartened.

So you are sad that Watson was not charged (in an system where you can indict a ham sandwich, as they say), and in addition to that, you're sad that the entire QB hungry NFL still wants Watson on their team because they're ok with taking him even though he has not been charged.

Feel what you want, but it's ok man. Not every team will act the way you want them to. Not every fact will be discovered to fit the story you have in your head. Be happy. I was completely fine with a future of Watson being charged, convicted, and going to jail. At the same time, it's a bad system to just jail people we don't like without a fair process, and he didn't even get past the early steps of this process. Be happy that now your team, the Texans, will benefit from other NFL teams not having your same judgmental opinion of the situation and how they should run their teams.

Bring on CMC and plethora of picks!

Doubt its true but the Jets offer would have been worth thinking about. Wilson started playing better late in the season.

That Browns offer is a ****ing joke. They would have to give up 2 extra firsts just to take Baker

I would have Kramer'd that Jets deal.
If this report is true it must mean the Carolina stimulate package is big. ugh I mean stimulus.

No way those are true. Watson would have been a Jet already. Unless he won't waive the clause.

    What?

We've all made our own judgments about this, as is our right. I don't claim to know that which is unknowable, but my best guess as to the truth does not result in a favorable opinion of Watson.

Not really. I'm completely fine with the grand jury not indicting if they lack evidence to do so, that's how things are supposed to work. I don't want people prosecuted on the basis of my opinion alone, that's silly.

Like I said, I expected a couple of teams. Not naive enough to think his career was over. However, I didn't think we'd end up in "possibly most lucrative trade in professional sports history" territory given the circumstances.

You're reading into this way too much and trying to sus out bias that just isn't there. I was not rooting for Deshaun to be railroaded into prison or something anymore than I was rooting for him to be exonerated.

The only thing I said, and still feel, is that I was expecting fewer teams to be interested in mortgaging their future for someone whom has what I feel is a very likely pathology when it comes to women and sex. That's all. Full stop.

Sorry, I'm old and don't know what sus means. And sorry if I'm reading into it. Did you not write "disheartened?" And sorry, I'm too lazy to look back because I care very little about this, but care enough to respond. If you didn't use "sad" or "disheartened" then I very much read into it too much and only commented on your surprise, because it was not surprising to me at all.

I'd much rather have a young lineman or defensive player than Wilson.

    Otherwise we're close.

If the 2 1's this year are included, then you have to jump on Jets deal. They have 2 high 2's as well.

    WHOA!

Lets say there is some truth to this ... do the die hard blue bloods rally around Davis Mills or would they accept Zach Wilson with open arms? Some guys here even said Wilson would be like Mahomes. Very VERY interesting for these speculative deals to get floated.

I agree but not if it's about winning. Watson literally watch the previous gm and coach trade away all our best players for peanuts. If winning is more important than money to him. You bet he'd be upset.

It is still wasn't about the coach/GM, he was mad his activities were coming to light and that Easterby interfered.

Duane Brown was the most important trade. It cost us 2 first to replace him and get Tunsil.

I remember the days/teams: Cowboys had Staubach and Morton, 49ers had Montana and Young, Packers had Favre and Rodgers. Why can't we have Mills and Wilson? Lol, of course you take Wilson and let them compete. If they both kick butt, then we have a nice trade piece.
