    Lol

If Correa wants to be a FA next year in a year with no legit SS competition and no labor issues, if we decide to not go in that direction someone else EASILY will

We should be hoping that is what he wants at this point

The house listing thing is interesting and perhaps a bit poorly timed on CC’s part, no? Maybe he takes it off the market if he stays?

    2022: 45 million
2023: 45 million with an opt out
    2024: 40 million
2025: 35 million with an opt out
2026: 33 million with an opt out
    2027: 30 million

6 years, 228 million but if he stays healthy and and wants more he has plenty of chances. Keeps our legit window open 2 more years minimum

This makes so much sense that I'm skeptical it will happen. The business side of MLB has me completely cynical and jaded.

I read that he has been out of that house for several months and is renting a bigger place in another part of Houston. Speculation was that if he stays in Houston he can purchase the house he is in instead of just renting. Teh house angle has no bearing on his free agency.

All gambling caveats applied...they're Vegas's WS Champ #2 behind the Dodgers, without Correa

Where, just out of curiosity and to reply to people who have been making a big deal out of it?

Agreed. Give him 5-6 years at $35M-$40M per with opt outs after 1 and 3. If Carlos plays well he can opt out next year with better free agent optics, if he has a bad year or is injured he has the security of a multi year deal. If he stays around Astros have a SS, if he leaves after one year Astros can say, well we offered him a good contract, he decided to leave and spin that to fans.

It was on twitter and had a blurb attached to it. Looking for it, but cannot remember what Astros Twitter person sent it out. It had some stuff about McCullers with it, where he was talking about the new place Carlos moved into being close to his house.

At some point in time I have to think he's going to pull the ball more, and when he pulls the ball in the air the 25 HR's should become 30+ He's really up the middle and opposite way. I'd like to see him turn and yank some when going for power. If he approached it like Bregman he would hit so many more HR's b/c his power is legit. I think as he ages he will become less of a complete hitter and more of a HR hitter, if I had to guess.

Surlyhorns.com was where Snake read it I think from one of the posters there who knows some stuff from time to time. This was offline stuff he heard, not related to twitter. He has some connections (the guy that posted LMJ was going to have to have TJ surgery- likely).

His opposite field power is prodigious. Bagwell was at his best when he hit to all fields and Correa can have just as much success as an all-around hitter, even if he doesn’t have the mammoth power numbers.

Here’s another reason not to sign players for 10 years….

Is it though? Over those 10-12 years, he’s still likely to outplay the value of that contract (given how contracts continue to go up in overall value over 10 years).

At one point, however, Tatis is going to be labeled with the same injury concerns that have plagued Correa… without the playoff appearances and overall team success that Correa had starting in 2015.

Oh, I’m not saying adding pull side fly balls is going to make him a better hitter, just that it will juice his HR numbers. I think it happens when his skills start to erode a little (like Biggio). That’s an old man adjustment.

As more time goes by, this feels like Boras is resetting the market, working every angle and getting as many teams interested in Correa.

Astros aren’t any closer to signing Correa then they were two weeks ago.
