I don't think he and Rudy parted on good terms.

I don't think we've got an opening for assistant coach or tv analyst. [IMG]

I thought he was a helluva banger. I use to just watch him under the basket and not the ball. It was unbelievable some of the things that went on when someone would start to put up a shot. Otis could bang with the best as far as I'm concerned. You never saw him complain about the rough stuff. He could take it and dish it out. A true blue collar worker. It's in his honor that I use OT as my user name.

I hated to see him go but, it was best for the Rockets.

Otis was one of the best at taking up the paint. I don't know what Rudy was drinking that night but he surely wasn't using logic.

Heck yes and was the enforcer (when needed). Game five of the 94 championship - Hakeem puts a dream elbow in Mason's face on the spin. Oakley comes over to intimidate and OT stops him cold with a straight arm to the chest. It was a different series after that.

I also remember Malone and the Jazz not being able to win a series.

Not that I am advocating to get him, but he was solid (and has the rings). Stranger things have happened.

I think my last three post's where "I saw -insert players name here- at the airport today" It sucks, I get all hopefull because my overactive, Rockets tainted imagination goes crazy! [IMG]

I nominate myself for intelectual poster of the decade. [IMG]

You are absolutely right OT. After the trade went down for Clyde, a lot of people were trying to decide if it was a good deal or not. My dad was at a bar one night (this was when Rudy T had a bit of a drinking problem) and overheard a conversation with RT and a fan. The fan asked something to the effect of: Is trading Thorpe going to hurt the team? Rudy T responded by saying that Otis Thorpe was one of the biggest "pu**ies" in the NBA, and that he couldnt bang with big boys. Granted RT might have been a little tipsy, but those are the words my dad said he heard. Interesting stuff....

Yeah, I work at the airport. I'm the manager of the hat store Lids in terminal C, and as much as I wish I could get away with it, my company frowns on employees knocking back a couple of cold ones to make the day brighter. [IMG]
