ClutchFans Game Thread: Mavericks @ Rockets 3/11/2022

Silas takes out the 2 players that were hot right after each other for a long stretch. The game gets out of hand with the second unit go into halftime down 23.

 

HOW THE **** DOES GREEN GO FROM DROPPING 32 AGAINST THE LAKERS TO NOT GET ANY PLAY TIME AGAINST THE MAVS IN THE 4TH???!?!?!?!? PLEASE GET RID OF SILAS. SILAS SUCKS.

 

You need to watch how CC get the most points in rookies.

 

It's generally considered bad form to have your starters in during garbage time unless it's necessary (you don't have any one to play point for example).

 

II'm not a Silas fan at all but it appears he was possibly trying to get an extended look at Fernando and rewarding the bench for a better effort in making the game respectable. Sengun was getting worked down low and had an in-effective game overall tonight. Green not getting back in the game was disappointing though.

 

Just some puzzling decisions overall, but on to the next, I suppose. I just want our young guys to get as many minutes as possible before Christian Wood comes back, that’s another reason I was upset at benching our starters in the 4th. Without Wood, this was the prime opportunity for them to get touches and play to their strengths.

 

We didn't draft JG for him to get ROY.

 

Seriously @Deckard this is funny, you of all people who literally try to tell others how to post all the time.....come on man, a little self reflection can be fun........and I wasn't necessarily talking about you, but so many around here just want to see Green only.

Enjoy the fact that Fernando is blowing up, that Nix gets some time, that Christopher looks to have rebounded into form, that we cut a lead to 14 with a bunch of our bench guys.......and the starters got to learn a lesson about playing hard and bringing it every night....

And Orlando won, we are back to the worst record in the league.......

Don't make me come over to your house down the street and HOWL at your door!!!

I hate the rip through move...That's shouldn't be a foul...

A defensive player should be able to claim their space...

If they have their hands stretched out horizontally before an offensive player has moved into their arms, they were in that space first. I can understand if they are moving, but in no other situation can a defender be in legal guarding position and an offensive player intentionally run into them and that's considered a foul.

Play basketball.

 

Don't think it was so much a case of not playing hard.
I think the mavs zone defense gives us problems.
We have to learn to play as a cohesive unit to attack it properly.

Once Jalen started out with those 3 quick buckets they really focused their attention on him more.
I was impressed by his vision passing to the middle of the zone for several good looks by his teammates tonight!

Plus I thought he got hosed by the refs a time or two (or 3) on drives to the basket.
What I REALLY wish is that Silas would go out there angry and get a T protecting his players.
Talk about an outlier though!

 

What is the reference to Severo for?

 

Do people not realize Rockets were down so horribly mainly because Silas ran EG and KJ at the 4 and 5 against Dwight Powell when Bruno was on the bench doing nothing.

 

Silas is the biggest barricade of developing our talented rookies.

Nobody can get consistent minutes under the shiit coach.

 

We also didn’t draft JG for sitting on bench.

Here is what I want to see from Silas.....

I want to see him get ANGRY and get a Technical called when Green or KPJ get jammed at the rim and fouled 2 or 3 times on the way......

I want him to b**** after the game like JVG did about the officiating and how Luka can get a foul called when someone breathes on him and Green and Porter literally get manhandled on the way to the rim with no call.

Someone in this org needs to put the refs on blast and stand up.
