Set for the future? I must admit, I was leery at first but with JG, KPJ, JC and Nix I think our backcourt has all the traits I like moving forward; size, length, scoring and athletic ability. These are traits we lacked as a unit under Morey. Sure we had T-Mac and Harden but after that, there was nothing else. I think KPJ will continue to improve as a playmaker and JG showed what he can do since the All-Star break, JC has been consistent all season and Nix is a beast, he just need time.
No. I think we go big this year in the draft. Next year should bring us another lottery pick and any PG available wherever we pick should be better than what we currently have.
I think we need to give KPJ another yr. Also, Nix looks promising too. He reminds me of bigger Kyle Lowery
In this era, I don't even know how you can answer this question. There are a lot of young good/great players that are on their 2nd and 3rd teams. And I have no idea how you can determine how "set" we are after almost all these guys have less than a year of experience. If we're already set, that means we won't look to improve the backcourt, and I haven't seen enough to say they're all that great. I don't want the backcourt to be set - I'd like to improve it. For now, I'm "set" to see how much they improve while we look for front-court help or add talent to improve via the draft. It's a lottery team, so nothing is really set to me.
Depends on how good Nix is. Unfortunately, with Schroder around, the start of that evaluation likely won’t begin until next season.
I think once we get another big man in the draft it'll all start to come together. Our biggest weakness is on defense. I'm very pleased so far with the development of both KPJ and Green this year.
I like things about both of them, but I don’t think we are set anywhere. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from Nix, but he and KPJ manning PG for the next 5 years is not a winning strategy.
I think if you compare KPJ and JG current talent level to previous championship backcourts, I think they compare favorably to Billups and Rip Hamilton, Parker and Ginobili, and most recently Holiday and Middelton at their early stages.

That defense was clogging the lane geared towards stopping Green but Nix went in there and showed me a lot of good things. I know these are small sample sizes; but I see tremendous potential and would like the team to harness and improve their skills further. I don't see the point of drafting Ivey unless the Rockets move Josh Christopher. I prefer the Rockets draft SF slash Power Forward or 3 slash 4 position. My wish would be Jabari Smith/Chet/Banchero and hopefully Patrick Baldwin. Baldwin has always done well on team USA playing with guys like Chet. **Bring back Armoni Brooks
I think we have a good enough backcourt for the short term future and we should focus on the frontcourt in the draft. Although our guards aren't elite at it, we have 'enough' playmaking... especially if we involve Sengun in as many plays as possible, he can provide a floor general presence. Also, PG is one of the easier roles to fill in FA. There is a decent chance of getting a great vet to come take the young core to the next level.
Maybe it’s because we have a small team, but Nix looks big and tall on the sidelines.. I missed the Miami game so I’ll check it out to see how he looks next to opponents
I think KPJ has earned the right to be given another year to prove himself as point guard. Especially after last night. Dude showed real composure after his shot wasn’t falling. He did everything outside of scoring great and even hit that overturned three in overtime. Dude has proven to show up in clutch time. Real hoopers in the nba show him love so I’ll trust their opinion Jalen is our star so no explanation needed Christopher is good & I think should be our 6th man for the next decade but also more of a shooting guard. nix we’ll see unless some all star level point guard comes around I don’t think we need some point god. I’m really liking the size and combo guard skilled of KPJ & green. Honestly think they can give teams the business in a few years. Give us some decent size 6’8+ forwards with our picks snd we will be set
Nix will be better *PG* than either KPJ or Christopher. I do like Christopher as a 6th man role. KPJ feels like the odd man out.
Some of them are developing nicely but the guard rotation of Harden/Paul/Gordon will never be matched in terms of best backcourts in the history of this franchise
No, not at all. Green seems more set than he did three weeks ago, that's for sure. And as the #2 overall pick, he's probably the player I'd say is closest to being set as part of the backcourt of the future. But KPJ, Nix, and Christopher are all question marks. What position does KPJ play going forward? Can he consistently string together good shooting nights at that position? He's probably not going to be our future PG, so he has to shift to a wing/SF. Nix is way too early to tell anything about. Christopher is a bit of a tweener. He's a PG build but plays like a SG since he's more of a scorer. He's not an elite scorer of course, and he doesn't have lightning speed or hops or anything, so in some senses the question is going to be where he fits. I think there are reasons to be encouraged by it all, but backcourt of the future? No, not yet.
We've got several players who look to be good 6th men. As it stands now, I do not see this as the backcourt of the future. I want to add to frontcourt players in the draft this year, give the back court an extra year to improve, and I would still be surprised if we couldn't easily get someone to supplant at least one of our starting backcourt either through the draft, trade, or free agency next offseason.
