Guys on 610 say Rocks supposedly offered 3yrs at 10million

They actually were not saying that the Rockets have offered David 3yrs at 30 million, but that they have seen that rumor on the internet. They then went on to discuss it, and argued whether or not if they were the Rockets if it is a move that they would they do. However, they did mention that the Rockets are denying this rumor (like you would expect them to, for public sentiment, on the Hakeem issue). Anyways, they were just passing on some of the rumors they saw on the internet this weekend....

I wonder how much of this Robinson-to-Houston is just crap being thrown out there by those close to Robinson to make San Antonio ante up the money?

I haven't closely watched the flow of rumors on the internet before during a signing season but I have watched stock market rumors for years. Trial balloons and disinformation are rampant. The David Robinson rumor could be started by his agent to light a fire under SA, by Hakeem's agent to bid up his worth or by the Rockets to give Hakeem some second thoughts. You have to look at the source, first time or unknown posters have to be discounted entirely.

The rumor may or may not be true... I'd just rather see the rumor from a different source. I've personally read The Rocket Guy admit to making up rumors just to create a stir. I can't accept anything that he writes as fact anymore.

 

Personally i like the idea of having Robinson on our team only if he's asking for the same amount of money as Hakeem. Because with Robinson you know that you will get a guy that play at least 70 games a season for you because he stays in great shape. Also, he will not complain about his involvment in the offense like Hakeem becasue he deferred to Duncan when he was coming off of to pretty good years after his mvp year. The guy is a long shot blocker meaning he will block alot of shots and give us that presence inside by changing alot of shots. But don't get me wrong, if Hakeem takes less than the 10 million he's asking for, I'll take Hakeem but if they're both asking for ten million, give me Robinson.

crispee-An additional nice bluff would be to ask Mooch to take a 1 year, 1 mill exception contract-then, he only counts for 2 mill (unrenounced) in a delayed Dream windfall situation, and we'd have his LBR.

IMO, If you want to give someone a large multi-year deal, I'd much prefer Antonio Davis over Robinson. We could probably sign Nazr AND Marc Jackson for the price of Robinson.
