Serious. I've only ever seen anti-Tilman posts. Never seen a single pro-Tilman poster at all, just anti-Tilman posters saying that's all they see when there's literally nothing.
Agreed, he's probably earned them more than our other rookies so far despite much lower expectations.
The point was getting rid of Theis but somehow they negotiated with Schroeder to give him playing time. Him being a guard makes it difficult on a team with a logjam.
Schroder was jack shyte last night too. -19 or something ridiculous like that. But as long as he makes Green look good then no problem, to hell with development of other young players or even giving the team best chance to win.
Schroder most times makes the right reads and decision. Like when he got the ball to Sengun on the block and Sengun just fumbled it out of bounds. Besides our coach ain’t coaching **** anyway. I can’t tell aschirder is jsut freestyling and being crafty out here with no gameplan or strategy implemented becaue well we don’t have offensive system implemented. If you don’t have no system it’s hard to play your role if you aren’t a primarily scorer like Green Wood or KPJ. I feel bad for our rookies because if Silas
Just give guidance on how pg play should be. Thse are young kids they meed some direction from an actual pg since Wall aint playing and EG isnt a pg..
The Rox have a bunch of young studs who all meed time, Garuba cant even step on the court and JC and KJ Martin look like lotto picks. Stone should've unloaded EG and/or Wood during the deadline for assets to free up PT.
JC is so talented and underrated. We would look at him very differently if he was a lottery pick. We need to rest EG / Schroeder and give JC 25 mins a night. There is definitely a good starter in him. He can score, create, defend. He is at 15/5/4 per 36 minutes. It will be interesting to see what kind of team construction could allow JC to partner Green on the backcourt. We would need a SF that can act as the primary ball-handler, someone like Brandon Ingram. I’d love to see a future lineup of Chet, Sengun, Ingram, Green, JC with KPJ, KMJ, Garuba, Matthews off the bench. Fingers crossed we get lucky in the draft, then use Wall’s contract and the Nets picks to swing for a star.
Why would you take the taller, stronger and better passer guy (KPJ) out of the starting backcourt to insert JC? I like Christopher, but there is nothing he does better than KPJ. Even if you do want JC in the backcourt and want a ball handling SF, why would you prefer Ingram, who averages 3.8 assists and 2.4 TOs as a "ballhandler" when KPJ just put up 10 assists and 1 turnover (and has consistently been well over 2:1 ratio). If you want a three guard/SF lineup, keep KPJ with Green and JC. I'm not sure people realize how good KPJ has become or how fast he is improving....
More from a defensive standpoint, given Green is our centrepiece. Not sure KPJ+Green will ever make a strong enough duo defensively. KPJ is clearly more gifted/talented than JC, but JC may be a better fit starting next to Green. I don’t feel strongly about either direction honestly. Could be the case that Green or KPJ grow into being plus defenders, in which case, the above point regarding JC starting would not be valid.
Well, this year they have exactly the same DRtg (117). So neither is acceptable yet, but I am optimistic that both will improve. But for sure, the defensive improvement of both KPJ and Green will be fundamental to understanding whether they can start together long term. If the best they get is "good" (and that is likely given the offensive load they will have and Green's physical length limitation), then getting a long, lockdown PF or SF is critical assuming Sengun will be the long term C. That makes this upcoming draft lottery is so important ... multiple top defensive-capable forwards available at the top, and that is our biggest hole by far.
JC is a hooper. He's coming along nicely just like the other guys. Had hit a little wall (like they all do) but he's busting through and I think he'll finish the season on an upswing. Dude is instant offense when his shot is falling. Bulk and work on your defense in the offseason.
I don't feel like he's hit the wall. I think his confidence took a hit when Schröder took most of his minutes. Obviously no one knows but I don't think it's a coincidence that he hit the wall in exactly that game
After a little mini-slump, JC is back! I think it takes a lot of mental fortitude to recover from a bad stretch so quickly, and his last few games have been great. Out of our four rookies, he was the only one that I was relatively unfamiliar with coming into the draft. Now, he's one of my favorite players, and we are so lucky to have gotten him where we did in the draft! I still think he needs more minutes, but if he keeps performing like this, there is no way those minutes won't come
Im sure the addition of Shroeder played a role, but Im not sure its a confidence thing as much as just playing alot of games and getting used to the professional routine. Josh had several games of average minutes for him during the last month or so where he missed all the shots he took or only made 1 to go along with some questionable defense. Before the acquisition he had similar numbers with a handful of good games sprinkled in. Evan Mobley is coming out of a little rookie wall himself for example. 82 games is alot the first time through for these youngsters even when playing reserve roles. Just my perception at least - I'd like to think that JC is a little more mentally tough to not allow a little competition to rattle him.
