yes westbrick is the issue in the latest video last night. It was why this thread was bumped. It's spotlighted because westbrick himself decided to do so. He's suddenly talking nonsense like its disrespecting his name and is all in his feelings about it.

He's even worse this year. He's been bad every year prior in the last several years, but the trend of rock bottom decline continues. It's just now at that point where casuals who thought he was good before are forced to see pathetic play now that even the most casual person who knows next to nothing about basketball can see it.

 

The Lakers dumpster fire this year has brought me so much joy.

 

Honestly man, if he wasn't so combative with the media, arrogant and condescending to anyone asking him questions, and unwilling to take an adjusted role, he probably wouldn't be criticized as much. He wanted to be in this big market. What did he think was going to happen? He should have stuck in a smaller market where no one watched his games and gushed over his triple doubles. Or, in this bigger market, he shouldn't fight an adjusted role coming off the bench and not playing the last five minutes. Or he could turn down his $47M option at the end of the season and go somewhere else. These are options in his hands for reducing his exposure to criticism.

This is not new. Some years ago, I used to defend Westbrook against those who hated on him. Then came the triple double thing. When I saw that he constantly left his man in the perimeter to wait for the rebound, I lost all respect for his game. When people questioned about his rebound hunting, he answered in his now familiar defiant manner, "I just want the ball more than everybody else on the floor!" I knew then that he was the kind of guy who wanted the ball more than he wanted the win.

 

exactly. Lebron and his gang made Lakers pick up a washed up WB while not resigning Caruso and possibly getting other useful players. Now they are going hide while using WB as the scapegoat. Hilarious.

Also AD has done nothing but sit his ass on the bench this season, where's the vitriol towards him

The problem with Russ bringing this up is, every home crowd is now going to chant "WESTBRICK" whenever the Lakers come to town.

Now that opposing fans know it bothers you, they're going to use it against you.

AD’s been almost as disappointing…he has higher expectations, and hasn’t delivered this season at all

I have to say, I now feel sorry for Russ. Basketball aside, no person or family deserves death threats or any other kind of intimidation. This is all on the fans and people of that city.

Me too. Started feeling that way 2 or 3 days ago. I wanted him exposed and that has happened. So more of it, at least for me, is just drama.

Still wondering how it will play out though.

Magic was just saying on national TV Sunday that the Westbrook trade could be the worse Lakers trade ever.
