It's crucial we keep losing. Standings are too close at the top.

Could you imagine if we got Jabari Smith and had this starting lineup:

    1. Nix
    2. Green
    3. KPJ
    4. Smith
    5. AP

I much rather have Smith than Chet - not only because I think Smith will be the better player, but also because he would allow AP to start at center. I don't think you could play Chet and AP at the same time because it would create defensive weaknesses on the perimeter (but lock up the inside nicely) since neither can really step out. But smith would give guards nightmares on the perimeter.

KPJ is a bench guy, you need a better glue guy on that team.

    Long term.

They won't be losing. Blazers are a mess and Sactown is beatable.

We see how the Indy game goes.

Just sim'd and got the 3 and 4. In some fantasy driven, crazy scenario in my dome I thought of this. What you think?

    Sengun
    Paolo
    Jabari
    Green

I think it’s unlikely Ivey goes #2. But the tournament could definitely change some evaluations.

Might not be a popular opinion but I'm not sold on Sengun as a starting 5 in this league. I see a situational guy who can create some mismatches against some opponents - a great bench weapon but not a guy you want to be forced to play 30+ minutes a night at the 5 spot.

I think ultimately he ends up as a 4 if he can improve his 3 ball and a smallball 5 otherwise. He just doesn't have the length to be a starting 5.

Will this be our last time in the top 4 for a while?

I expect them to be pretty bad next year too .... Just based upon how many young players will be getting minutes.

You will likely have TWO rookies.

5 players will be entering year two - Green, Christopher, Sengun, Garuba & Nix.

Mathews, Martin and Tate will be entering year three.

That's 10 players in year three or less ..... then consider that Wall probably won't play again & Nwaba will get garbage time minutes.

That accounts for 12 of your 15 roster spots - then there's Wood & EG who are expiring .... and Porter Jr who's entering year 4.

What do you expect when 2/3rds of your roster is in year 3 or less ?

Even if the Rockets hit the jackpot on their #1 pick, I fully expect at least one more year of being in the early part of the lottery.

This sounds good. . but I don't know if that will be our Roster
Wall/Ego - Will they be traded?
Also I am thinking that maybe they can trade some of those youngsters for a middling ground youngster (5th yr guy or something)

I am fine with us going through these growing pains. . . IF WE ARE GROWING
So I am good with Next year's 20 win team .. . . . but at some point we have to grow to 30 . . .and 40

Hopefully not. We have Brooklyn's picks and swaps.

I'm with you! But good luck being heard saying it without getting shouted down.. haha

He has a LOT to learn about how to play in the NBA still. Overplays his hand way too much, which is currently fine, but if we were trying to compete he might be finding minutes harder to come by. Still, excited to see him grow further

You have to think if KD stays healthy they will manage to stay out of the lottery with Simmons, Curry, and Irving.

Most likely. Tonight’s game is pivotal in determining the rest of their year. Philly is next (but who knows that the hell happens that game)

You're looking at it from their side. I'm hoping it all falls apart every season in the middle of the season for them. Hell, I didn't expect us to have or almost have a 2nd lottery pick this year, but here we are. lol.

I'm hoping Simmons' becomes "brokeback", Durant breaks down, and Kyrie goes "full Kyrie" and becomes allergic to stadiums with too many vowels in their name.

You need to put some respect on the names of Larry Nance and Tim Hardaway they were better than their sons, the only 2 sons who are better than there dads are Klay and Steph and their fathers were near all stars.

Ha - well all that matters is how they are at the end of the season. With 17 games left it's going to be hard for them to get to the 6th seed and avoid the playin. If they lose that game, we get our lottery pick!

It's very likely it will be in Brooklyn (or Toronto) so Kyrie probably won't be playing (hold up those restrictions nyc!) and if Simmons is truly brokeback then heck anything is possible.
