I love Steve, his game, his heart. But man, when you're traded, it's ok to give displeasure but please please don't force another trade.

Look, Orlando will have a pretty good nucleaus with you, Cat and Okafor. And with some other solid young guys like gooden, stevenson, and Garrity you guys will be a force in the East. Just go out and prove the Rox was wrong for trading you instead of whinning like a little biatch. Don't let all the positive feelings I have for you go down the drain. Let me WANT to cheer for you in Orlando.

It'll be sad to see Francis go, no more sightings at the Gatsby the night before a big game..

FINALLY! A positive comment about Francis.

Like I said, I'm sick of the Francis bashing. Francis did some good things in Houston and was the star here for a few years. So suddenly, Houston gets a top draft pick again and Francis is supposed to throw his whole game away to go to the new guy. The new guy who doesn't play his advantages when he has them, who doesn't look forward to big matchups, who shoots more outside than he does on the inside, etc. etc. etc.

The Rockets changed coaches and improved a whopping two games in the standings this season, something that could've been done under Rudy T. Now Francis is unhappy where he is going, so what! We're getting a player who is saying the same thing only he's saying it about the place he is NOW! Francis likes the city of Houston obviously or he wouldn't be mind leaving, show him a little gratitude for that at least.

Remember what happened last time a deal like this went down for Houston? We gave up Horry, Cassell, Bryant, and Brown and got no further than the Conference Finals and you don't even want to go there with the Pippen trade. Now we're giving up an all-star point guard (the hardest position to play in the NBA), a good shooting guard, and a big body off the bench which is needed because as Shaq said "Yao never guards him one on one." I'll bet this trade will end up costing us more than helping us and we'll end up being sorry. Don't get me wrong though, I'll be happy to see us succeed I just can't be that positive about it at this moment.

I don't hate Steve, but he kills the T-MAC deal, I will hate him forever.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Francis ends up in Seattle, Allen goes to Orlando, & we trade Taylor/TE/future #1 pick to Seattle for Rashard (not that Seattle would necessarily be interested)? That wouldn't leave him with much talent around him.:D

It would be more than ironic. It would be a miracle because Seattle would never give up Lewis for Taylor and a mid/late 1st rounder. :D

I have been a big Steve defender all along. I'm not at all a huge fan that loves everything he does, but I have always said that most have been WAY too harsh on Steve.

However, the way this is going down is bad for everyone and Francis had/has the power to make it go away. Instead, he has chosen to LOUDLY voice his opinion causing all sorts of problems for everyone involved, himself and his current teammates included.

That pisses me off - McGrady or no McGrady.

If Francis goes to Seattle--it proves he is a total and complete liar with the Vancouver thing. Isn't Seattle like 2 hours down the road from Vancouver?

What if we take Booth's bad contract off their hands?

    Francis and others to ORLANDO

    for

    T-Mac and others to Houston

    then

    Rudy T to LAL

    then Shaq to DALLAS

for Dirk and Nash to LAL

then Francis from ORLANDO to DALLAS

    for Marquis Daniels to ORLANDO

then bye-bye title, much less west finals champs for years to come.

It could happen just as much as any of this other crap could.

Either way, Francis will be a Rocket killer for the rest of his carreer.

Great post, I pretty much have to agree. I can see things getting real good with T Mac but I can also see them getting real bad. But with our current group I see nothing but Improvement even if its not a much as the T Mac trade COULD be

I like this thinking, HT. I've been thinking the same way, but with Brent Barry in mind.

I see something like Barry + bad contract for Mo T + part of TE

Of course, Rashard would be even better.

I 100% agree with you. At what point does his agent step in and say, "Steve, you are hurting your image throughout the league. Buck up and we will take care of this in due time."

SF is acting like a whiny little b**** on this, and I use to REALLY like him as a player. I have heard from guys that know him that he is stupid, like "who is the first president of the US" stupid. At first I thought the guy was exagerrating, but now I am pretty sure he is dead smoke accurate. At some point you have to stand up, be a man and accept your situation. A team of SF, Mobes, Garrity, Okafor, and Cato is a very good EC team. They would contend for a playoff spot next season.

Yeah, but we had a LOT more to lose at that point--the risk was greater. We were dismantling a championship contender at that point while trying to REMAIN on top. In our current situation, where are we going? I love Steve Francis. I absolutely LOVE Cuttino Mobley. But I'm tired of waiting around for them to improve enough that we can get to the next level with them. I don't believe it anymore. I just don't believe that it takes that long for a team to finally mesh and "come together." A change needed to be made, a major one, and this change is perfect. Does it guarantee titles? Absolutely not--we might be worse with McGrady & Friends than we were with Francis & Friends. But we have to try something new because I don't want to become the Minnesota Timberwolves of five years ago and just tread water as a low seed out west. I'll take the gamble and see what happens.
